Wedding venue has gone into administration

Hi. We have just heard that our wedding venue has gone into administration:eek: if no buyer is found, they will close down 5 days after our wedding. They have assured us that everything will be the same and the wedding should be fine however I am really concerned that if the worst happens and they have to close, the staff will have found other jobs, suppliers wont supply etc leaving us without a wedding that we had planned and so looking forward too. We are insured but are currently away and hasn't access to our policy to check if we are covered in this event if we decide not to change venue, date etc. does anyone know where we would stand with this? Thanks

Can't help other than to say I hope it all works out OK and you're able to contact your insurers soon, but it may be worth posting this on the weddings board to see if anybody there has had a similar experience

Chances are you will be covered. So you will probably get all money spent on the venue back.
Our venue owners did a runner with our money and we got our deposit back quite quickly, plus money we spent on extra accomodation for guests.0 -
As the venue is still in operation you have no legal right to cancel. You would need to check your insurance policy to see what that covers - perhaps you could view a copy online?0

Google your insurers and ring / email them - I am sure they will be able to advise you so you can relax while away.0

There are companies that run these places once they are in administration as the banks get less money selling a closed venue. However as your wedding is before the venue closes you might need to get confirmation in writing of every detail that you have agreed and are paying for.0
