First time seller questions

Hi all, I've recently decided I'd like to sell a few pairs of shoes, possibly on eBay but I have zero experience selling online and I had a few questions I was hoping you guys could answer.
They are all new never worn irregular choice boxed shoes, boxes in lovely condition as well. Only thing is I no longer have receipts for them, would this affect me selling them on eBay? I've read a lot about buyers claiming items like these are fake etc, and saw one thing about eBay requiring proof they are not fake at listing. Is there any other way I could prove they weren't fake that eBay would accept?
Also I was thinking of selling four pairs as a job lot along with a brand new irregular choice bag still packaged with its protective tote bag also unused (as it matches a pair of the shoes) is it a good idea to list items like this together? Would they be likely to sell? And again I don't have a receipt for the bag anymore, would this affect selling it?
I was thinking if I did sell as a job lot I'd send via royal mail courier service as they offer satellite tracking, electronic signature etc, would this be enough proof in case of dispute? Would I be able to sell a job lot via a private account?
Sorry for the naive questions
, I'm completely new to this as I said and I've read some eBay horror stories. I'd really appreciate any advice. Thanks

I had to look the make up as I'd never heard of it- but they do seem to be good sellers (lovely shoes as well!)
Most people are selling them as single pairs, so maybe try that and th eones with a matchign tote sell with the tote. Check out the following threads as well:

now all I need is for someone to talk me out of placing a bid on a lovely pair of shoes I absolutely don't need!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. - Buyers tend to go for individual pairs so they can choose the ones they like/dislike.
Everything normally goes fine - the horror stories are just a tiny percentage of the successful sales. Just keep your buyers' interests in mind - it's a two-way process and if you try and avoid responsibilities that is when you run into trouble. Describe everything accurately - under-sell rather than over-sell - and make sure you package and send everything promptly after payment.
It probably depends what brand the shoes are as to how likely a buyer is to claim fake. However, if you make it clear that if the buyer is not happy with what they receive, the first thing they should do is contact you for the option of a return, you will probably not get people damaging the items or claiming they are fake simply to get their money back.
Just relax and behave as you would when taking money for anything else, be it at work or casual arrangements. Fulfil your part of the bargain promptly and there should be little reason for active fears.
We're also always here if you do end up with a problem. We are the first to say where the seller might be in the wrong, but also can help put anything right which is genuinely beyond your control or if you have made a mistake somewhere.
Best of luck

I'm just hoping they're not size 6 - I love Irregular Choice. Definately list them as individual - I might sneak one new pair past the husband, but never 4 at once!0

I'm a size 6 and am already eyeing up a couple of pairs that end in the next few days- hands off!

I have about 5 pairs - I find them really comfortable for heels - I think it's because they tend to do thicker heels so the weight is more balanced0

Thanks for the replies guys
. So basically selling individual pairs would be better. I have been looking into eBay fees and PayPal fees, if I want to have the payment option as PayPal only is that ok? It seems to be the safest method for all. With the P&P charges should I offer different methods of sending and ask people to contact me for prices? Or should I find out a few before hand and list them as set? Also I want to sell within the UK only, can I block people from other countries bidding?
I've brought quite a lot from eBay and never had a bad experience, then again I only buy from sellers with 100% feedback or 99.7% lowest.
The shoes are all size 5
. I'm also thinking of selling a pair of new boxed Iron Fist lacey days boots, and a pair of three quarter length Emu Australia boots, new and still tagged but box is quite damaged. I assume I should photograph all boxes and company packaging as well? Cheers guys this is all really helpful, it's nerve wracking placing your first items up

You need to choose the postal options that protect you and which you are comforable with . So assuming these are a normal sort of weight for shoes and you are expecting under £46 per pair then 1st or 2nd class recorded or not- it is up to you. Personally I don't bother with recorded, but read the sticky postage thread and decide for yourself.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ok cool thanks. So not bother with couriers or anything? The boxes I'd say are a bit bigger than standard shoe boxes, quite fancy

I was thinking of wrapping them in bubble wrap then brown card to send. I've just had a look on eBay at prices of others like mine, many are going for £80 to £100 ish, there aren't any listings for the bag I've got on the UK site. I'm thinking of doing a bid starting at £30 maybe with a reserve on a few pairs. Is that a fair price?I SUPPORT CAT RESCUE! Visit Cat Chat to support cat rescue too.

Accepting Paypal is compulsory and I haven't had a paper payment (cheque or PO or cash in the post from Belarus/Botswana/Outer Mongolia) since 2008. In theory it's not always the safest payment method to choose and I personally accept anything anyone is prepared to send (though I know some people feel differently). However, in practice, I would imagine 99% of transactions on eBay now use Paypal, so you pretty much have no choice and might as well do Paypal only.
I am the complete opposite with shoes, btw. I have a good, strong comfy pair and some good shoes that I wear for special occasions, but due to flat feet can't wear high heels and even narrow flat soles cause problems when walking any significant distance (and I don't drive so sometimes have to walk a mile or two, e.g. between uni and the centre of town, because I'm too cheap to go that distance on the bus)."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4
