i ordered a replacement card, presuming a PIN would also be sent - it wasn't.
i've not used this card in over a year, so I cant remember what the pin is.
I am going away for a few days, and wanted to buy a couple of things - is this still possible?
I leave on Monday (6th Aug) so online ordering isnt an option - it has to be in-store
Can I still do this????

Only where there is no Chip and PIN facility. Rare in the UK but possible abroad.0

I read another thread on here about the self-serve checkouts in supermarkets. If you put your card in the wrong way round it tells you to swipe and sign instead as it can't detect a pin.
Could be worth testing with something cheap to see if it works0 -
thanks anthorn - not really what i wanted to hear though!!! lol
what about ordering online? and in store collection? is that an option???0 -

It is at the retailers discretion whether they chose to accept a purchase without the pin. Most will, but I'm sure there's the odd oneo or two that won't.
When signing for a purchases the retailer becomes liable should it be a fraudulent transaction, but where the pin is used they are not.0 -
barclaycard is the issuer
i know i can order online............but as i go on monday, home delivery is not an option.
it needs to be order and pay now (online) and collect in store today/tomorrow/sunday0 -
When you order online you don't need a pin0

You can order online for collection - you will need to take your card with you to collect but you should not need the PIN. If you do there is something wrong.
As an aside, if ANYONE ever asks for your PIN over the phone do not give it, even your bank will never ask for your PIN, it is a number that should be known only to yourself and never given to anyone else. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

I ordered something online recently from Screwfix for store collection.
Although I'd already paid online, I had to make a 1 penny "purchase" in store using the card (and pin) They gave me a penny back out of the till.
