Hi
Not sure if this is the right forum as never posted on here before but I am so annoyed with TalkTalk that I felt compelled to share my awful experience with them and to warn other people about them!
In a nutshell, I signed up with them back in June this year on one of their offers of halfprice broadband and calls for 12 months which plus line rental came to about £17 a month, the offer also inlcuded the £50 connection fee being waived and 500 minutes of calls to mobiles.
The first problem came when they told me an engineer would visit my house on 27th June to connect, then I got a text from them the day before telling me they weren't coming (and I had booked the day off work). they had sent me the modem which I connect myself after finding the phone line.
Now they have sent me a bill for £91!!!! I rang them and complained and after being put through to someone who could understand what I was saying (they don't have very good English!) she admitted the offer hadn't been applied to my account and I was being billed £20 a month plus a £50 connection fee. She amended my bill to show £17 a month, no connection fee and £5 knocked off for the fact I had to call them to complain. She said I would receive an amended bill and £30 odd pounds would be taken out. I cancelled my Direct Debit which was due to go out on 2nd August as I suspected they would still take the £91.
I have not receieved an amended bill as promised and they keep trying to call me on my landline. I don't see why I should have to call them AGAIN to try and sort this out and I am not paying them a penny until I receive my amended bill.
I am really regretting signing up with them but I am not sure if it is too late to cancel and sign up with someone else?
Any help/comments welcomed!!!

Welcome to the hell that is TalkTalk.......sometimes, cheap is more hassle than spending a little more for decent service. You will find the nonEnglish speaking call centre staff impossible to deal with, nothing will be done despite promises, and next thing the debt collection letters will arrive.
I would write to their Complaints team and keep it all in writing as they will not keep to any verbal agreements and will pretend they knew nothing about them. If they cancelled their engineer appointment at short notice and didn't bother to provide another appointment, and you have not had the benefit of any service, I would say they have breached their contract with you and you should write to the complaints team about this and look to resile from the contract due to their breach and return their (useless) routier/modem. You would be SO much better off in every way without TalkTalk ruining your life!0 -
Thank you for your support and advice. I think I will write to them and cover everything that has happened. Do they have an address for complaints? What a bunch of clowns!!! Just proves you get what you pay for. I have also sent a message to the TalkTalk person on here in an attempt to get this sorted out.0
