Hi everyone,
hope you don't mind me joining the thread. I usually read most evenings but haven't commented before. I love MSE and find lots of useful info on here. Battle is trying to get rest of family to be so enthusiastic!!! I have a goal in mind of saving enough to be able to retire early as work is difficult for me due to health issues. On holiday at the moment for 6 weeks which I absolutely love. Love having the extra time to make meals, bake etc. Also like having the time to have a good look in the shops instead of a run in and grab what we need due to time restrictions.
Hung washing out earlier, i'm lucky that hubby put me a line up under the car port so I can go out and not worry if it rains. Made Beef in ale for tea which is smelling delicious in the slow cooker. Going to empty my savings tim sometime this weekend to see how much ive managed to save so I can treat my son and grandaughter when I visit them in Devon in a couple of weeks time. Hubby insisted we stay in a cottage this time ( £370) when we can stay with son for free!!!! So cross with him but he says he likes his own space. Drives me to distraction at times.
Have a lovley evening everyone and take care xxx:coffee: Jules xxx

Are you going off in Tarquin this weekend?
Have a lovely holiday.
Gintot
we are off first thing Monday as we are both working this weekend:) back Thursday evening. Would have liked a full week but with dogs and pigeons to be cared for its too much for DS1 to do for a whole week. He's stopping here and travelling to do his radion show from one of their studios about 10 miles away.
I've filled the cupboards so the 2 DSs wont starve:D
Happy Birthday Eclacla:beer:
@ DDs new pet PP!
Flutterby - ouch! hope the head isn't too sore x
tea break over must do something!;)Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Afternoon all,
Welcome Saving to retire:wave:
Happy Birthday Elacla:beer:
FB Ouch ! Hope you feel better
Had a busy morning. Been into Manchester with my youngest for some new bits of clothes. He is growing out of everything and his pumps are hanging of his feet (only noticed that they were flapping like a tongue earlier yesterday):o Anyway managed to get him some jeans, shorts a hoody and a couple of pairs of pumps in the sales.
Also had a lovely bagel for lunch which was delish. We went on the train and the walk to the station is a good twenty minutes each way so fitted in my exercise as well.
Still really struggling with my knee, should go the docs but can't face it. My mum has had a knee replacement and I just don't want to start down that road:(
Just spent a nice half an hour skyping my boys in Oz.
So have finished the ironing and got a bag for the charity shop of all Danny's clothes that no longer fit.
Out for a meal tonight with DSS and his wife but off early 6.00! but I suppose we will be back to catch up with the Olympics later.
Trusting DS to have his friends around for a couple of hours, they are all nice kids so should be ok and we will be back early.
Anyway no rest for the wicked. Have a good evening all J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

FB Ouchy! Hope you're feeling a bit better now; have a restful evening, if you can.:o
Saving-to-retire welcome to the thread!
Pen-pin awww, sorry you're feeling so rough again. I agree, 06:20 is a tad early! I don't know how you cope with having people coming in - I couldn't do it; I'd be a nervous wreck!
I'm envious of your DD's python though; I used to keep snakes, many years ago - I had a corn snake (Jake), a yellow rat snake (Fang) and a Taiwanese beauty snake (Nomad).:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hi x
Im polishing my Old Style halo today:A
I have used up sausages and bacon and made two tasty meals. I hope this marks a return to my OS ways but it depends so much on how I feel. Trying to be more positive and upbeat - fake it 'till you make it kind of thing.
Hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Just popped back...
Fb Take care, know how you feel:rotfl:
Saving -to-retire I was medically retired early from teaching (with MS) but haven't found it too bad. The worse part was the humiliation that the DWP put me through when I had to claim ESA. Thankfully it is now sorted out. You have to consider yurself first.:oI Believe in saving money!!!:T

evening all.
i didnt post yesterday as i wasnt in the best of moods. ive been to the hospital and had the plaster off my arm. its mending but its still very painful but i have to have to have to do these excercises with my arm as i have been told that if i dont use it im likely to end up with limited use long term. its so painful to move it i could cry. have seen how long the metal plate is - its a long one with 6 screws. doc signed me off for 6 weeks and told me that was just the start. ive hardly done anything but so painful but have dusted the telly - well its a start!!
i put a chicken in the oven this afternoon and my hubbie took it outt and stripped it and my daughter made a salad to go with it. so todays meal was quite easy.
house is getting slowly clean. have concentrated on washing ironing and cooking and cleaning the toilet. all those things have been done so the rest of the dust is still sitting there.
have been doing shop online with my daughter and my kids have been helping put it away.
hope your all ok

Hilstep2000 and LameWolf, thanks for your kind words of encouragement. I'm just about hanging in at work at the moment. Going to try my very best to do the next 3-4 years so I can pay off my mortgage or as much as I can. Got youngest to get through Uni too as I don't want her disadvantaged. I just want to give her as much help as the older ones have had. I have good days and bad days but I've made a conscious decision this year that if i'm not well I'm not going to go. That in itself has taken a certain amount of pressure off. My problem is stress related and I would say 90% better when i'm not at work so thats why I've decided to retire as soon as I can.
Well tonight I had a spanner put in the works when my lovely stepson turned up unexpectedly for tea. I'd made my Beef in Ale but he is vegetarian. So he had to make do with chips and egg. I did russle up a rhubarb and strawberry crumble with custard though, with some rhubarb i'd stewed yesterday and had in the fridge. So I think I redeemed myself! lol
Have a lovely weekend everyone. Lets hope the sun shinesx
