Morning Redruby and all,
Happy birthday Ellacia, hope you have a lovely day and Lou, good to see your post.
Lovely sunny day here, ive got boat loads of washing to peg out and ive got stuff to do before hubby comes home tonight but instead i am sitting here surfing the net.
I'll be cooking a roast tonight, hubby eats junk food all week working away from home and i try and give him a balanced diet when he is at home.

Hi all.:hello:
I'm still a very tired Wolf after our day out Wednesday (ruddy lupus!) so going to take it easy again today, if possible.
Hoppy Birdday to Elacla:beer:
Before I forget, my thanks to Wannabe Sybil for the tip on yesterday's thread, on checking for fleas.:o Don't get me wrong, we don't have a problem, and thus far all our guests have been suitably treated, and blessedly flea-free, but it's a tip I didn't know, and a useful one to file under “just in case”, methinks.;) I even have a suitable nightlight I could use if it came to it – Ted the Terrier needs a light (and a radio!) on overnight!:D
Jessie the Black Lab has settled in beautifully – she just wants to be friends with everyone, and is happy to sit and be fussed over.:D Poor lass has mobility problems, and walks really strangely, but she's a happy soul, and obviously loves her life.:o
What ho, Lou. Sorry to hear about the chest infection – it's horrid when meds have unwanted side-effects, isn't it. I've lost track - when is your baby due?:o
Halight your young hen is doing well for herself – double yolks, hey? I hope the twins enjoy their day.:o
I've washed some of Mr LW's jeans this morning, but it keeps spitting about with rain, so they're on the A-frame over the bath. I simply cannot do the Washing Hokey Cokey with this shoulder so painful. In fact, I have to see the physio-terrorist tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it.:(
Quorn fillets in white wine sauce with chips for our dins tonight– Mr LW has already cut the chips and left them in water so that I don't need to risk chopping my fingers off.:D
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at work with his pack up, fish fed, baskets watered.
Todays plans include ironing again, I did a little yesterday but DD2 rang to say she needed to take DGD2 to A&E as she'd found a tube of superglue! So I watched the older ones & swept her floor for her.
Some absolutely fantastic news, DD1 has had a short term placement, a 14 year old boy, with mum in a hospice, his birth father has moved heaven & earth & will be able to give him a home from September, he's such a lovely boy, I cried when I heard the good news. I also heard today that my age does not automatically preclude my choice of career change.
Time I had a cuppa.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning All
Well, I'm back from my holibobs, a few days in Wales and then up to Sandend near Banff for a few days, all absolutely fabulous. I went swimming in the sea in both places and although very cold it was quite exhilarating and I felt great afterwards!
Been having bother with the water supply for a couple of weeks, very low pressure which has been causing havoc with the WM, DW and shower. Booked for water folk to come out this morning but they turned up on Wednesday when DD was in and she didn't know where the stopcock was. Anyway they came back this morning and have fixed it - a faulty valve along the road. So glad everything is working well now.
Not caught up on the thread but hope everyone is well, have had happy birthdays, holidays, etc. Off to peg out more washing. Take care. XX0 -

Hi.
Adelight: You're right. It's very quiet here, I could hardly believe it when I switched on yesterday and we were still on the first page. School holodays I guess.
Lou: Sorry about the cramps. It's awful when you're given meds to cure something and it sets off something else. Hope you feel a bit better soon.
HH: What good news! Poor little boy though.
Elacla: Enjoy your day. Hope you are spoiled rotten.,
Just made a loaf from my first AF order bread mix. I'm so excited, sad person that I am. I felt like a kid at Christmas when I unpacked the boxes.
We have an elderly couple from the church coming to 'afternoon tea' today. It's a long time since I did afternoon tea. Made a choc fudge cake and victoria sponge, tiny cheese scones and tiny sausage rolls. Will do some delicate, crustless egg and cress sandwiches. Does that sound about right?
Tomorrow we have been invited to a Golden Wedding. We don't know them all that well so a bit stuck what to get. Think I'll hit the garden centre and see if I can find an appropriately named rose bush. Either that or I'll buy a pretty bowl and fill it with gold coloured sweets and things.
The Rev swore that she didn't like the Olympics and wouldn't be watching, so who was this person sitting on the edge of her seat yesterday yelling, "Go, go , go man. YYYYYES!"
I smirked.
Off to see how the athletics are shaping up.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Afternoon all
Happy birthday Ecacla
HH - good news
This morning didn't start off too well. I had a dizzy spell, fell over and cracked the top of my head on the bathroom sink . Thankfully no blood, but I do have a big bump, and a massive headache. I felt a bit dazed afterwards but not too bad. I'm in work today, but counting down the hours til I can go home and put my pjs on.
This morning work kids did another fun session for local summer club in our log cabin, just for 2 hours. All enjoyed. We had 3 adorable babies there, as well as the older kids.
It's one of my best friend's daughters first birthday today. We ordered her the Ride on Hetty and apparently she loves it!!
OS wise - not much! but all is in order at home anyways.
Have a good day all

the young hen is doing very well thanks, She has layed again this morning, Another small egg, I don't know if the egg she layed yesterday and the one today are double yokes But the other two had two very small yokes in each. They were just like the eggs you get of a bantam hen, Very small. i know when hens first start to lay that there eggs are small. But these do seem smaller than normal. But In saying that. She is only 17 weeks old tomorrow, So she has started early. Hens come into point of lay at 16 weeks. And will start laying between 16 and 26 weeks. We had our other hens at 16 weeks old. they did not start to lay until 23 weeks and 25 weeks. So she is a lot smaller than when the other 2 started to lay.
Anyway I'm pleased with her. And the combs on the other two are growing nicely and starting to red up so It wont be long before thay give us an egg.:):jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Hi Guys!
Feeling rough again today and the patches don't seem to make much difference, but maybe they take a while to kick in? Nurses were here at 6.20 this morning:eek::eek::eek: Im going to ask if the can come no earlier than 7am. I think thats fair.
Have just got a good deal on loo rolls via Milk&More. 36 rolls plus a box of Lindt chocs using 2 codes for £7 delivered. Seems a good deal to me.
Today my helper has been and did downstairs (hung washing out, emptied DW, peeled veg for dinner, organised a cupboard, cleaned through & did floors) and topped up my medication for another week, she also left me with a cheese sandwich and a cup of tea:D She is here for 3hrs on a Friday/Monday and we usually have a coffee and natter when she gets here at 8.30, so really only does a couple of hrs work, but I enjoy the company and we have a lot in common. Im hoping that on better days, maybe we can eventually take a drive somewhere as she's happy to push me in the chair, but not sure whether it would be a lot more to insure her? Ive organised all the help myself as Im hoping OH can have a little time to himself, although he's generally working at that time.
Tonight we have sausages and hoping for Toad In Hole. We have mash, carrots and cabbage done.
DD is busy with her new pet....a Python:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: Her and OH are feeding it later with a frozen fuzzy:eek::eek::eek:...why can't she just have standard pets!
Garden is looking good and the fruit trees are doing very well. I think we're going to have LOADS of figs int he next couple of months and many apples too. We are already eating potatoes, onions, strawberries, gooseberries, raspberries, peas etc. OH is going to mow again this weekend. I think the pear and cherry tree will fruit next year. The pond he did whilst I was in hospital is looking good and he's put a filter/fountain in and has some new fish. Its very soothing to hear the water, even if its from my bed with the window open:o
Have sorted a delivery for when we're away to be delivered at the holiday home and managed to use a £10 off voucher too with delivery being £3. Theres 4 of us with lots of fresh food for picnics/beach/parks etc and enough for 5 main meals with breakfast items and rolls etc for lunches. Also some wheat free stuff for OH. It came to under £55 so under £15 each seemed a good deal and there were some treat stuff in there too, but also some value products to balance stuff out. We have a big chicken that will do a roast and sandwiches/salad next day, 2 x value pizzas but have pineapple/ham etc to go on top, sausages, mince for spagbol and eggs with buttered saut! pots.
Anyway, I apologise for rambling. Hope you're all okay.

Think I'll get my old bike out of the shed and spruce it up tonight and tomorrow, I could do with getting fitter and seeing Tesco selling a bike for a paltry £1 has got me interested.
Have a good weekend, y'all.0
