. I had my camera as did the vast majority people (including many great big professional looking cameras with umpteen lenses). 0 -
It's really annoying that they put that condition in the official "rules". I wonder how many people have left their cameras at home because of it.0

I get a photography magazine emailed each week, they mentioned about this. It seems they are only really strict on equipment (lenses, tripods etc) over 30cm long, but its probably down to the discretion of individuals0

I've been to several events and there have been no problems with cameras but not during certain events eg while the archers are actually shooting or the weightlifters doing the lift because the flashes might be distracting. But mostly you won't have a problem and certainly piccies while the athletes are getting ready are fine.0
