New Lloyds Vantage current account

Is it ok to use and R85 forum for this vantage account? I earn under the threshold.
The reason I ask is I suppose they would expect those who use this account to be in employment and paying in their wage in.
Would anyone else hesitate in sending a R85 form.0 -

No. I assume the R85 was handed in when the Classic (current) acc was first applied for?
As for the wages bit they don't care where the 1 grand comes from each month, I know. Straight in straight out is fine.0 -
Hopefully this may help those trying to work out if an account has been upgraded or someone feel free to disprove my theory.0

Assuming that theory is correct, it confirms what I already know - that the system is not picking my accounts up as 4% ones, which is bizarre if the telephone advisor was telling the truth and given that I received the Vantage packs with 4% insert in the post dated the day after my phoning to "upgrade". I'll leave it to Lloyds complaints dept. to sort it out - who knows, they might extend the generosity they showed a few weeks back (I phoned to close a Classic Vantage account prior to the latest offer and was bribed to stay with £100 worth of gift vouchers).
Yes, missed it too. I thought I had read all of this thread as well. Wish I'd have known before though as I would have called them sooner.
I didnt plan on complaining about mine not being set up properly, didn't want anyone looking into my accounts too closely!0 -
There really is no need for anyone here not to know whether an account has been registered to 4%.
The internal codes used by Lloyds to classify the account as 4% rather than 3% have been posted in this thread 3 times. All it takes is one call or one visit to branch, one question.
It shouldn't be necessary to do this, but this is the way Lloyds have chosen to do it, not customer friendly but they make the rules. Maybe shortly this information will be available online?0 -
Hello.
I currently have one vantage account (I applied over the phone a couple of weeks ago) which is my main current account where my wages get paid into each month (between £1500-£2000). I have now got £6000 in it so wanted to set up either one or two more before the deadine.
When I applied on the phone the woman saw I had two DDs set up and that I was paying into the account more than the amonut needed each month and told me I could have the account changed. Out of the two DDs, one is monthly to virgin media the other is annual for Camra membership. I joined camra this time last year and got 15 months for the price of twelve by setting up a new DD. I have only made one payment to them so far and intend to carry on paying via DD when it is due. They are the only two I have at the moment.
I wanted to know what new DDs I could set up in order to open up the new accounts.
Other than the two DDs I currently pay all my bills in full as follows.
Monthly - credit card(shopping, petrol, some utility bills etc)
Quarterly - gas, electric, water
Annually - council tax, car insurance, tv license, season ticket for Norwich City FC,
I've always been cautious about setting up DDs because I don't understand them fully and I don't like the idea of people being able to take money automatically. With Virgin it was the only way and camra where doing the 15 month offer so that meant it would give me free entry to the norwich beer festival for two years running = saving, so I joined.
I buy a fishing license every year which I could pay for by DD and every year NCFC offer 0% DD on my season ticket. I have also been accepted for a halifax credit card (0% on new spending) which I plan take advantage of by makeing the monthly minimum payment each month possibly by DD.
My question is which, if any, should I set up and in what order so that I qualify for the Vantage terms? (I intend to transfer my wages into the new accounts when necessary etc) Are there any other DDs I can setup?
Thanks and sorry to waffle on.0 -

Yes, I missed it too. That's the potential problem with lengthy threads.0 -
And the main reason why the thread is so long.........the same questions asked and answered over and over again....you just have to look at the post above yours.
I appreciate it's a long thread, but it doesn't hurt/take much time to do some of the groundwork for yourself (generally speaking).0 -
As I was on holiday last month I did not have time to get my accounts upped to 4% before the end of the month but am pleased to say that a quick visit to my branch saw them marked up for 4% within two minutes. The guy congratulated me for being organised and getting the extra interest. I had only got DDs already set up on one of my Vantage accounts but he was fine about that.
Job done.0
