Now that I have DDs set on my two Vantage accounts on my other two Vantage accounts, I used that 0800 number (thank you forum - much quicker :j) to get those switched over. Got told that the DDs need to show some activity :(, so no use, it seems, having them there doing nothing ;). So the occasional £1 seems to be the way, which I can do via PayPal, Saga and Tesco (once their online system is mended). Need to rake some money out from elsewhere now to top up all three.

I'd be calling back and hoping to speak to someone else - my direct debits haven't even been set up yet, and I got the marker on. What they've told you seems to go against what they've told the majority of people on this thread!
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

To get the 4.00% on £6k, do i need to telephone or will this be done automatic if i upgrade online? I know i need to have a couple of D/Ds too to get the offer, but i just was wondering about the method of upgrading.

    From http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_accounts/vantage4.asp
    Existing Vantage customers
If you’ve already got a current account with Vantage - but want to take advantage of this limited Vantage offer - just visit your nearest branch. They’ll sort everything out for you.

Or search this thread for their 0800 number - several people have had the 4% offer added over the phone

I've opened the Tesco Internet Saver and set up 3 DDs to my 3 Lloyds accounts. Am I allowed to open a second Tesco Internet Saver or should it be a different account with DD facilities in order to establish my second lot of DDs?

Yeh people do seem to get slightly different experiences when speaking to them. To be on the safe side I shall simply arrange that £1 gets transferred by the DDs from time to time.

I have just set up a classic account ready to upgrade to Vantage & today i just received online access.
If you went in branch to setup the classic account, you could have just as easily setup the 4% Vantage offer there straight away rather than upgrading the account.

But anyway, regardless of whether you have upgraded to vantage already, call them up or visit and ask for the 4% offer.

Just to confirm me and Mrs Kar already had existing Vantage accounts (with DD's) and upgraded over the phone on the first day of the promotion on 10th Sept.

Neither of us have had confirmation letters and I wouldnt expect a "welcome to your Vanatge a/c" letter as the accounts were already pre-existing vantage accounts.

I was in branch last week and the cashier couldn't see anything on her screen to confirm the upgrade to the higher tier either. She even twisted the monitor around to show me. All she could confirm was that it was a vantage account.

It seems like the flag, or whatever is set for the higher tier, is a backroom system one for interest calculation (hopefully!) eyes only.
If the ball had gone in the net it would have been a goal.
If my Auntie had been a man she'd have been my Uncle.

I upgraded 3 Vantage accounts over the phone and have received welcome packages as though I'd just opened them.

I got 3 old welcome packs too, with the top tier at 3% for maximum balance on each of £5,000

I've upgraded on the 10th and worked out what interest I am due to get on the 1st October by taking the following

    £5,000 * 0.0296/365 * 9 = £3.65 Old rate for 9 Days
    £5,600 * 0.0396/365 * 21 = £12.75 new rate for 21 Days
    Total Expected: £16.40 Gross - 20% Tax = £13.12

Time will tell whether they work this out the same way on the 1st October

    Just a thought......

I wonder if all the MSE Vantage Account holders setting up Direct Debits have broken Tesco's online Banking system.....:rotfl:

If you send a DD request (paper version) to Tesco how long typically would it take to set up the DD? Do they simply fax/email it thru same day to LTSB or whichever bank? Just wondered (how long DDs take in general). Sure I saw somewhere it says allow up to 3 weeks.

Tesco allow you to set up a DD request online, and they and Lloyds between themselves seem to process it within 2-3 working days. Other companies and organisations require a written request and take longer.
