Realistically how much weight can I lose in 9weeks on sw?

Hiya,
I'm sooo mad with myself, I've been trying to lose weight for what seems like an eternity! I'm so sick of stop starting! Have done loads of fad diets over the years including the cambridge diet but want to do it sensibly doing sw. I was thinking to try some slimming pills you get from an health and beauty clinic, but my friends just text me saying 'you'll feel off your head' and that has really scared me lol
I go on holiday in 9 weeks and am just curious how much weight people have lost on slimming world in that time? I have 3-4 stone to lose but will be happy to lose 2 stone.
I'm not great with exercise as have had to see a cardiologist and as its very slow and occasionally has an extra beat, plus on strenuous excercise it only gets up to 92% do he suggested no really mad strenuous exercise classes just swimming, walking I suppose low impact stuff.
So any stories of inspiration for me, I can't go to Florida looking like this, if nothing else my clothes don't ft me lol x

Swimming is great for weight loss! A girl in my hula hoop class lost 1st in 7 weeks doing SW with one hoop class and one swimming or walking session a week

I think they tend to say 1-2lbs a week is a realistic weight loss aim. I don't know specifically about Slimming World, but just in general. So you could perhaps lose between 9lbs and 18lbs in 9 weeks. You might lose more than that (often a lot comes off in the first couple of weeks and then it levels out) but to be honest, I'd aim for something in between that. To lose 2lbs a week regularly for 9 weeks you need to be pretty 'good' and exercising a lot I think.
Good luck! I need to lose about the same amount as you. Way too late for my holidaysbut I am going to start 'properly' in September!

I'd say about a stone , some weeks would be better than others but a stone in that time would be fairly do-able.Norn Iron Club member 4730

Mrsbritishboy wasn't very overweight just wanted to get fit for our holiday earlier in the year, she changed what she ate to smaller meals throughout the day (5 or 6 of, yoghurt and banana, healthy sandwich, handful of nuts etc) and done a long walk every day (approx 4 miles at normal pace) and dropped 4lbs per week for first 2, then 3lbs a week there after
Brilliant results and she didn't need to join a gym, pay to diet or even look like she was working out (just looked like was going for a walk)
Good luck and remember it's not always about the scales it's how you look in the mirror and feel inside. More exercise, and fresh air/daylight in these summer months work wonders0 -
Great hacks everyone, I'd be happy with a stone as that's what I was last time we went so I know my clothes would fit lol
That's a good idea too, we have 2 springers so I think I'll try and get out more with hubby and them, would love to take them on my own but the girl won't leave the house without hubby and the boy likes to go at 5million miles per hour and I'm sure after just one walk he'd pull so much one arm would be longer than the other lol x0 -
Dress size for the win - I am a 14/16 now and have a size 12 dress I want to wear to a wedding in November...I think I can do it

depends how hard you work and how much you want to lose in 9 weeks? But you could lose 2 stone realistically if you train and exercise right and eat right too with no snacking.0

I was planning on doing SW but I can't always plan on eating, so I got the myfitnesspal app for my phone and I'm using that, you type in your current weight and what your goal is, and how much you want to lose a week, your exercise level and it'l tell you how much you can eat a day, you type in everything you eat and you can scan packets etc if you find that easier. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

I use the www.myfitnesspal.com web site instead of the phone app (don't have a posh enough phone!)
It will give you a target for cals for the day and take into account any exercise you do (including walking) and let you log what you eat etc.
I've done SW loads of times but to be honest have found this more scientific approach of cals in vs cals burnt to be working better for me. I've lost 10 lbs in about 6 weeks with a weigh in to come tomorrow (think I've lost another 2lbs this week).
Good luck!0 -
I've lost 2 stone 3 1/2lbs in 10 weeks with Slimming world, I have only just started exercising so I guess if you exercised from the beginning then you could lose more.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0
