Make sure the windscreen is clean. Use a glass cleaner.
  • Clean blades and screen with vinegar, works for me.
Am sure someone will say it is a mortal sin!!!!!

After cleaning the windscreen and then polishing with Autoglym glass polish I wipe the blades with the glass polish.....no squeaking.

Plus you can get this with quality blades too.

I had this with a set of "Renault only fit" blades recently, only cured it by dismantling the blades, not easy, and revering them. Technically wrong but they now work in silence.
This was after doing every thing mentioned in the above posts, ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Fit better quality blades. I use the aero ones off ebay. wiperblades.co.uk.

Plenty of people on here suggested them. But as always you do get the odd person that says they dont last, But i have found them fine. 2 years old now.

always clean wipers when washing car

cheap blades come with poorly molded clips that dont fit snug this is what causes the squeak.

I polish my windows with car polish (not wax) while polishing rest of the car. the water just collects in beads and rolls off the window and it the car dont look like count dracula with fang missing

What do you think is in the polish that runs water off your windscreen?.

No idea? Polish whats that? Does it come naturally in rain water?

I try to avoid washing my car, The rain does a decent job. If its not raining then i think of the dirt as sunblock :)

Wasn't asked of you, the poster above,;)

But I don't wash my car either, only to sell it, still comes up as good as any other.
