Sky broadband and Xbox live problems

Sky broadband switched in Today in new house and wireless Internet to pcs and phones is looking fine but am having problems with the Xbox connecting to Xbox live.
Ideally I want to sign into sky and organise sky go on the Xbox but right now can't even access the app store on Xbox live.
After hours of testing connection and attempting to sign in to Xbox live I am ready to throw the console out the window.
On the rare occasion it signs in it shows error code 80072ee2 and nothing is accessible.

try deleting all previously stored wifi networks on the xbox, then try again........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
The above link has noting to do with Xbox Live, just watching Sky TV on the box.
Have you opened your ports in your router and allowed it through?
Normally you do not need to open them just to connect,
This can depend upon which router you have too.

as above poster has said you may need to open up some ports for forwarding.
I had to this with 2 BT home hubs when they came yet the new BT infinity hub came preprogrammed with the Xbox live ports open. well done BT :T
try this site for instructions:
http://portforward.com/
find your router and just pick any xbox live game: Example COD Modern warfare 3 as they all use the same port.
to be sure this is what is causing you the problems, try temp turning off the routers firewall and then connecting. if no problems then re activate the firewall and port forward a path through the firewall for Xbox live. DO NOT leave firewall off permanentlyBetter in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
I have gone through system preferences to find my internal ip address which I need to put into my browser bar as part of the port forwarding but it just comes up can't find page - I'm on a mac if that makes a difference.0

Even on the latest sky routers it will improve the connection if ports are opened.
Even better put the xbox IP in the DMZ.
Floflo - what make & model is your sky router?
If you can let us know we can point you to the pages that you need to access to sort this out.
Usually you need to enter into your browser:
192.168.0.1 to access the router pages, then enter user=admin pw = sky
I wont go any further until the router is identified, but either way do not throw the xbox out the window.
On another matter, do you have any telephone extensions fitted?
If so are they also fed into a little box that then plugs into the phone line?0 -
Thanks router info is:
System Details
Manufacturer Sagemcom
Model Number F@ST2504n
Firmware Version 5.23.1a4N
ADSL Firmware Version A2pD030n.d23b
I googled port forwarding and tried to have a go but got stuck.
I do have one other phone socket, do I need to put filter on there too.0 -
All your phones need to be after the little boxes.
Your router should be plugged into the first/main phone socket where the line comes into the house.0
