Hi, I have never regretted telling anyone about this site as I have learnt that so many people have debt problems it isnt something to be ashamed of. We are here sorting our debts out and I have become a Debt Bore to Anyone that will listen to me!

I now openly tell my friends about the debt that im in and if they want to know I tell them what Im doing to sort it out. I also do not post anything about anyone else so I have nothing to hide or be ashamed about.

I realise a lot of people are embarrassed by the debts but I truelly have taken the Board Slogan to my heart and Am Proud to be dealing with debt.
I agree with you. And jet, providing you aren't posting anything about your family, why should your Dad give a hoot? He is more likely to be proud of you.

I'm not ashamed of my debt, I have just had a lot of personal problems lately which I really appreciated the support and advice I was given when I posted about them before.

Today isn't over yet but hasn't gone too badly so far apart from a few panic attacks but I just breathe through them now.

I am not ashamed of my debt, I am just a very private person and would prefer that people who I only know superficially didn't know it was me.

I changed my username and started again because I'd told work colleagues how fab MSE was and it turned out one of them is on the email newsletter list and another uses the Grabbit board.

I have an unusual first name (no, not Oakdale!!) and it was part of my user name. It would have been easy for someone to spot me if they knew me and also used the boards.
  • My hubby knew about our debts but did not know how worried i was about them till he was looking through our history trying to find a website we visited recently. The site caught his interest and with my real name being Rain he kind of put 2 and 2 together. We talked for hours and he's now 100% behind me and helping me take control of things. Sometimes it works out for the better, believe me. It's easier to write something down than it is to admit it face to face This is why this site is so popular and well liked.
