I will never use these rip off merchants again. They charge you £8.95 for a £3.95 search .
Avoid at all costs !!
I have used mycarcheck and find them great value, yes there is an option to buy a mileage check but it is very obvious, at least you get the choice.
Before they came along an HPI check was £42, they have saved 1,000 of people buying written off or stolen vehicles and their data is guaranteed. Also they carried out over 1m checks last year
The info is the same as everyone else as it is all from the same data base(s)

And some of the previous posts aren't spam either!!
As long as there are suckers about willing to throw money away at these kind of scam sites they will always flourish.
"I can tell you all you need to know....... as soon as you throw all your money at me"
!!!!!!, whats's wrong with people????0 -
This company is an absolute con! Google should ban them from pay per click. They use search terms like HPI check when they dont even check HPI. My father used their service before purchasing a car that we later found out had 33k of outstanding finance from not the immediate previous owner, but the one before him. When I called them for help, they were completely unhelpful, and just kept repeating that they dont check for outstnding finance. This was despite completing the finance protection form/invoice. Their site is entirely misleading and they are rogues - avoid them like the plague.0

They still try to defend themselves on other sites by saying that the consumers who ask for refunds are simply idiots who haven't read the small print. They are deliberately deceptive and unfortunately because such a relatively small amount per person is at stake, the average victim does not take a complaint further to the authorities or to the courts.
These scam artists rely on this and cumulatively are raking in hundreds of thousands from innocent consumers. If Britain had a proper consumer-affairs advocate, they would put these people up on criminal deception charges!0 -

If Britain had a [STRIKE]proper consumer-affairs advocate[/STRIKE], not so many gullible people, they would put these people up on criminal deception charges!
Whilst I don't disagree with the statement, you previously posted a link to Rip-off Britain.
A Website which, coincidently, was created and registered on the very same day you made your post with the link

See www.ripoff-britain.net for further details.
This site is a scam... they do not give complete information and following their legal advice will cause you heaps of trouble. Avoid this ripoff company.
Considering it is a site which isdedicated to revealing the deceptions, cons, bad deals and outright lies that companies use to take advantage of the innocent British consumer.
I agree MyCarcheck is a scam, but your poorly created site isn't helping anyone.
Do you think your advice on your little site carries much weight??send a copy of your complaint to Trading Standards and probably mention Consumer Protection sites such as Ripoff-Britain.net holding listings against this company.0 -
OP, it depends on if they had no recorded information on the car, for example there is no recorded accidents/thefts and/or damage or if you its simply, they do do have any record of that reg plate, if it's the latter, contact them, if not think you don't have any come back0
