Has ANYONE else had access to your debit card?
I've not seen anything as accurate as this on a phishing email so I would be very concerned right now.
I would be on the phone to Quickquid this morning armed with all that info above and back it up in writing which would be posted minutes after putting the phone down.
Be cautious that it is against the banks policy for you to allow anyone else to have access to your Debit Card so the banks aren't always sympathetic to this situation.0 -
Oh God doesn't look good does it ... even worse I actually put £150 cash in the bank yesterday morning. I changed up my £2 coins to pay for my car tax online last night (£107) and for school uniform (£42) that I ordered the night before. I haven't used my debit card anywhere else except for morrisons recently ...There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

I agree with smithers - contact QuickQuid asap.
Use contact details from their website rather than from any email they sent, just in case the emails are spoofs.
Is the "billy****" password one that you use?
Does it suggest anyone you know?0 -
am on the phone to them now. Birth dates don't match .. I'm being transferred to the fraud departmentThere is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

I was transferred to the fraud department ... based in Chicago ... The only information I have given them is my DOB and the first line of my address and neither match what they have on their database. The last 4 digits of the debit card are not either of my debit cards. I was quite wary with them about not giving away too much information. They will be investigating and will contact me in due course. I did ask if the person who had applied lived in my hometown and the reply was no so that rules out the ex and anyone close to me. Thank you for all your help ... I will print out the emails and take them to the police station when it is open this afternoon.
I'll update this thread with the outcome. There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

Well done for not getting carried away and giving too much information out too.
I doubt the Police will be much help, the most you can expect is to obtain a Crime Reference Number, include that in your letter.
Good luck.0 -
And to make doubly sure, I have just called back quickquid using the number on their website to confirm that their fraud department is based in chicago. Their call centre is based there too ...
I've been a victim of having my card cloned so I'm overly cautious about my banking but I don't think that's a bad thing in this day and ageThere is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

I would also recommend you check with the credit reference agency's too, Check there are no other credit applications you are not aware of? I guess this is a quick cash hit without too many credit checks but their could be others.0
