They complement his silly posts rather well, I feel.

    Not aimed at you Derv.

Interesting that he his is always right and everybody else is wrong.

Quite why soo many people have to be soo pedantic it really does detract from the actual thrust of threads day after day.

Fine, disagree with someones point of view but don't keep splitting hairs over pointless trivia.

Thanks grizzly. Yes, I too was amazed that so many different people came onto this thread to make pedantic posts attacking a throwaway comment I made at the start, it really did detract from the thread. I also agree with you that they should have disagreed with my point of view but shouldn't have kept splitting hairs.

As to the first point (at who this is aimed at), I have DervProf on Ignore, for his own good, and so I don't know if he also posted pedantry.

Anyway, thanks for your support. I'm glad there are still a few people on here who can see sense. :)

You are so kind and considerate.

I prefer to not (pretend to) ignore anyone on this forum.

Classic Dan: pretending he wants house prices to fall.

Of course I want house prices to fall, I'm planning to buy in the next 2 or 3 years and would prefer, like anyone else would, a lower mortgage.

The difference is I don't bang on about *significant* house price falls, because I know it's highly unlikely to happen.

Surely any house price falls are significant. While we have small price falls, it will mean that deposits ae not being "reduced" by HPI, and when you finally take on a mortgage, it won't be as large as if we were experiencing HPI.

I'm sure that if HPI is -1% per annum, it would be very significant to someone saving up a deposit for their first home, compared to having positive HPI..

RM isn't always right. The reason that RM first came to my attention was that he was certainly wrong on a statement that he made. It was very difficult to get him to admit that he was wrong, in fact I don't think he ever did. When someone won't admit that they said (or typed) was clearly wrong, you know that they are likely to be a bit "full of themselves". I think RM is a bit full of himself, judging by some of his posts here.

Ahhh Derv....he's clearly not ignoring you.

He's ignoring your finer points....those which catch him out. If he keeps banging on informing the forum several times over that he's ignoring you, he's got an excuse to ignore all those questions and annoying corrections you can trot out all day long in response to his posts.

The saddening thing for me is I'm not quite there yet. :(

Reno hasn't got an ignore list, that's clear...as you are mentioned more not that he's "ignoring" you than you ever were before.

What reno has is an annoyance list. Any post which has difficult questions or basic truths in can be blistfully ignored. Any difficult or sticky situations are not seen....and it's not reno's fault....he can't answer what he's not seen now...can he!

Clearly I have overstepped the mark here. I wonder what made up slander this will call for?

Well, from what I have seen, these forum members don't appear to be "full of themselves". Sure, they are wrong sometimes, but they don't come across as being arrogant. They seem to be of a bearish persuasion, which I suppose is much like myself.
