"Free" pay monthly phone insurance

Options
Be gentle this is my first ever post!

I have signed up to two Samsung Galaxy Ace phone contracts with Carphone Warehouse, £7.50 a month, phones free. My question is as the phones were "free" I assume insuring them would be useless as my proof of purchase shows the cost as zero?

Just concerned the phones will get lost or broken but will still have to pay out on contracts. Just have feeling insuring them would just be a waste of money?

You can still insure the handsets although for those handsets it would be a waste if you paid more than £80 over 2 years. ie less than £3.50 per month
As if they break you would get current market value at the time they break
  • To be honest, on something like the Galaxy Ace, I'd probably just put a fiver a month for each one in a jar. You can buy a new one for £120 or so if you need to, but at the end of 2 years, you'll have £240 in the jar ;)
