They at the moment are buying their gas off British Gas, so their meter reader told me. We left after a few months as we wanted to go where we could get a fixed deal until 2013 and no you dont get your duel fuel discount until you have been with them for a full year, which actually pushes the price up if you have to/or want to leave themTreat other's how you like to be treated.

Worst company -EVER!!!!
I change my supplier regularly, and we had the payasyouuse one, and all was fine for the first wee while. Then the bills starting going up and up.
Customer service was appalling, they changed the criteria for giving your dual discount back from discounting your bill at Christmas to sending you a cheque that took SIX bloody weeks!
As soon as we were able, we changed to N power, and we are paying HALF of what we paid to Worst Utility, and are in credit for both gas and electricity.
They still (allegedly) work out cheaper for us too online-but the ain't.
NEVER again.Debts :Paypal £1981.32
Monzo Loan £4278.16
Virgin CC £2137 0% until Dec 23
HSBC £5471.01 0% until Feb 2025

I have been with first utility for nearly 3 years, initially only problem was delay in getting smart meter fitted for which they gave us %5 off bill until sorted.
Then I failed to notice massive price hike on my tarriff last ecember - only figured this out when digging around today. Their new cheap fixed offer was apparently only for dual fuel customers, I am electricity only.
But when I phoned and threatened to leave they dorted me out with the same deal as dual fuel customers pronto! Nearly halving my projected bill .Having spent all morning comparing against EDF and Scottish Power fixes, am i highly delighted to be able to keep my funky smart meter power bills AND pay a good bit less til December 2013. I will also be looking out for price hikes more closely in future when not on fixed deals, can cost a bomb if they raise it without telling you!0 -

Suppliers have to write to you 30 days before a unilateral change and give you the option to switch.
If the raise is already part of your t&c's though, its not covered under unilateral since you agreed to it by taking the contract.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -
I just done 3 comparison sites suppose to be independent using actually kWh usage Sep 2011 to 2012 and First util came out top, not that I am planning on going to them. British Gas seem to be one of most expensive utilities0
