Think if you were made of wood you would have a very long nose!0 -

being mean is accusing the OP of being a scammer/thief etc.
That was my point, they have the right to take the money they are owed, OP signed an agreement, I feel sorry that the OP has got into this situation I really am but they can't blame the company for taking money they are owed."All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them."

As you have found out they know people will attempt to get out of paying them back as agreed, so this is just one way they will get their money back.
Just concentrate on cutting back (even if you have to live on beans on toast or pasta for a month or two), upping income, avoid taking another payday loan and pay off your mum ASAP.

OP, can you not take out another PDL to pay the thing for your mum?
Other posters will jump on me for that suggestion but you'll only be in the same position you were in to start with, and your mum will get whatever it was she wanted and that her money was meant to be used for.
I don't think the loan company took the money because you'd had the credit go in by the way - they wouldn't have had access to that information. I think they just ignored your agreement and took the payment as originally planned. You were lucky your mum's money was in your account as otherwise you would have ended up with an unauthorised overdraft.0 -

While I don't support their approach, you saying "I can't afford to pay" and then having sufficient funds in your account with which to pay rather suggests extracting the urine.0 -
Payday loan taking people are funny, their idea of an agreement is elastic to say the least.
Amusing."We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0 -
OP I know its hard to say after the event has happened but what you should have done is put the cash from your mum in a account with another bank so the lender wont be able to get at it.0

Pretty much cutting back on everything anyway. Supposed to have an income of £2500 each month and in the last week thats reduced to £500.
Husband's employers said that their had been a problem with the bank transfer of his July salary and would be in account no later than 20th July. I took out the loan so I could pay the bills and agreed to repay on 23rd (so that I could be sure that his pay went in the bank). The 20th came and no salary paid in the bank. Got letter from employer saying that they were not in a position to pay staff. We find out today if he's still got a job. I told Payday express about this and even sent them a copy of the letter and they seemed really understanding. They said "no problem" I could pay the interest and an extra £40 when I get my child benefit.
They were more understanding than some of the people on here. I suppose you all also think the threat of redundancy only happens to stupid people... I apologise for being so gullable0 -
Good luck on the avoiding redundancy stuff.
Message to others: When you're on decent money, save some of it.0 -
The real victim here is your mum, but unfortunately this is your mistake. I am sure she will understand. Better to be in debt to your mum then a pay day loan company.
Remember, they are essentially a legalised loan shark. In the old days they would come to your house, now they just raid your bank account.0
