Pound shops - huh!

Sometimes pound shops sell real gems - I found boxes of real good chocolate (Baci Perugina and Green & Blacks chocs) as well as packs of 2 of organic pasta in a 99p (got my bit of change YEAH!) shop in Lewisham. They are also great for good brands shampoos only the instructions are written in Arabic, or Russian or something like that, the content is still the same though.
Having said that, a lot of things are also rubbish, I would never buy their chafy plasticky horrible knickers (M&S always wins even if not the cheapest - in the long run they last ages so I consider M&S knickers an investment!).
CaterinaFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

My best pahhnd shop purchase was a little 3/4 size ironing board (my flat is tiny) that cost only £5.49. Presumably it was made for little Chinese houswives!

i got about a third of my kids xmas stuff for this year from there before new year in sale, by second of january i had finished buying most things for this year:o guess im the only one who does this (well my name on here used to be frugalite says it all really lol)It is not what you give your friend, but what you are willing to give him that determines the quality of friendship. -- Mary Dixon Thayer0 -

I did think of asking them that, but the shop sign says 'MOST items a pound' - presumably to stop people haggling!'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. It's cheaper.' Quentin Crisp0
