  • Expedia are good, but I usually use https://www.cheapoair.co.uk , who are, as their name suggests, very cheap, and I've never had a problem

I have used Expedia a few times before and they a very good.

They charge a small fee, so sometimes I use it as a search engine and then book directly with the airline.

Sometimes, they are however cheaper than booking direct with the airlines and can have some cracking deals.

Just booked a full package to NYC with expedia. Their prices are usually competative and I have used them before to book flights, hotels and attraction tickets/transfers/add-ons ect and never had any problems with them. They're probably one of the most reputable online travel agents to be honest. I actually get money back from them through an employee discount scheme at work so its good for me.

Its a good place to start as a search engine as they use all the major travel agents and have pretty much every hotel in the world (bit of an exageration) on their books. However, I agree with a few comments on here regarding kayak.co.uk as a search engine. Their iPhone/iPad app is actually better than their website too.

I usually check travel republic too as their prices are generally better than most

I would also try kayak.com. I managed to get very cheap holidays from these guys. What is great is the paying is completed whilst still using the Kayak site. Rather than leaving Kayak and going to the companies site. Trust me this simplifies everything.

Sounds a bit odd. Kayak is simply a search engine that directs you to other sites. They do not themselves sell flights. Even the flights + hotel option is powered by Expedia.
  • Dont forget to click through quidco.com for cashback on Expedia!
  • Used a few times and not really had any issues, like another posted mentioned their CS is not great, had an issue where a flight time changed significantly so they contacted (obv not expedias fault so not annoyed about that) but it was a pain to sort out calling them back etc etc.
I've continued to use them though as I think their prices are often good.

Used them loads of times. Saved hundreds on a trip to NYC booking flight and hotel together.
