Thanks Beanie - they are much better but still difficult getting up and down the stairs and getting about. I am at my niece's house now, and at least there is a downstairs toilet here so I only have to use the stairs to go once up and once down a day. I am taking it very easy, resting as much as I can. I did an online shop and haven't been out the house since I moved over here on Monday. It's been nice having Whiskey the cat for company too :D

Hiya everyone. I am still pottering around at my niece's house, minding the cat, resting my knee, and just chilling as much as possible

My sister hadn't heard from my niece yet since they went away last Monday, and they always text to say they have arrived Ok and their accommodation ok too, so she text on Thursday to check on them. My niece's hubby replied 'No, we have been kidnapped by Somali pirates and you have to deposit £1million into our bank account immediately or they will not release us. However, Grace (their youngest) is not being released as she has decided to become a pirate so is staying with them' :rotfl: :rotfl: Sis still hasn't heard if they are enjoying themselves :rotfl:

    Update from me:

Still just been relaxing and resting and my knee is slowly improving, though it catches me out every so often and still struggling with stairs and bath/shower. I actually got out in car on Saturday to Tesco though I struggled round the store with my trolley. But went to get car washed on Sunday afternoon and popped into nearby Asda and moving much better. Then I picked my Sister and B-I-L up and we went out for Sunday lunch, which was nice

Mind you, I didn't have a good night on Sunday but slept all day on Monday to recover, not even hearing my sister when she came at tea-time, even though she put recycling out, watered pots on garden, washed the dishes and even came up and into the bedroom but I never woke up at all and didn't know she'd been until I came downstairs about 11.30pm!!

I popped round to hers last night and had dinner there then a natter, and then drove down to Alan's Dad's to visit but no reply so messaged Alan's sister on FB last night and will try to see them later this afternoon

I am driving home tomorrow, yippee, so going to get my things together this morning to save rushing tomorrow

Hope all are well ............... and happy :D We had a little rain overnight but the sun is getting out now

    I am home yippee !!! :j :j

I waited till my niece got back from her holiday so I could see the bairns before I left, so didn't get away until 5.35pm and got back at 9.35. From joining the A1 after the Tyne Tunnel until I turn off at Peterborough, it is a clear run, with all the roundabouts taken out, so I just put the car in cruise at 70 mph and that meant I could rest my legs and stretch my bad left knee out. I was very surprised when I got out of the car ok and could walk after sitting for 4 hours, but my knee, although hurting, wasn't too bad. I cleared my massive pile of mail   then just got my case, holdall and laptop bag out of the car, leaving the rest in there overnight

I went to bed about 1.30am and slept straight away, waking at 8.30 am and have been up since then. I rang the surgery but my doctor not on today so will try again on Monday. I have just done a delivery grocery order for tomorrow and I have enough in freezer, etc till then. I do have to clean out my kitchen fridge though as the honeydew melon, 3 red grapefruit and especially the cucumber are not looking good after almost 8 weeks  . No sign of mice though so that is good. I foolishly bought an orchid just before I went up North, and was amazed that it was still alive and had only dropped 2 flowers, though my peace lily had not survived

Off to get showered and dressed now and do some tidying up as I had forgotten how much stuff was piled up from clearing the bedroom for the lads to decorate just before I went away

It is so nice to be home :D

Hiya all :D I have been resting my knee but working too

Had an easy day after getting back but I did go to the car boot last Sunday and then Dunelm Mills, but not for long as struggled with the pain in my knee. I rang the surgery first thing Monday and got appointment for my Doctor, who referred me to the specialist at hospital to see what they could do for my knee and I got my appointment through by the end of the week. It was for 26th July but I will be away then with the boys and Kit so I rang them and they changed it to Monday 5th August. I was expecting to have to wait longer for an appointment so was pleased and relieved that it all went through so quick

Last Monday I had a guy come to measure for blinds and have ordered vertical blinds which split in the middle for the lounge and a roller blind for the bedroom which, I think, go lovely together with the new curtains and bedspread I had bought at Dunelm. They are being fitted on 10th July :j

I stayed in the rest of the week, doing a bit clearing things, but was in pain lots so resting in between. My neighbour over the road came round and cleared my back garden for me on the Monday which was fantastic of him as the 'patio' was 4 ft high in field grass after my time away!! He also came the next day and sawed most of 'that' tree in my back garden which had been growing too 'wide' and his mate came this Sunday with a chainsaw and took the rest of the tree away, down the 1 ft off the ground. Garden looks so much better now, more wide-open and light :D Really appreciate what my neighbour did for me and he said, once all my fruit bushes have fruited, he will dig out all the borders for me and put in lots of clematis along the fence instead with some cottage type flowers along the front. He has also said that, if I want all the paving lifted and relaid properly, which I do need as they are very uneven, he will do it for me much cheaper than I could get anyone in to do it for, so that will be the next job

I did go down to the car boot late morning on Friday and had a bacon sarnie but knee really sore so didn't stay long. I took it easy on Saturday but was ok to go to the car boot on Sunday. I didn't wander round but talked to a couple of friends and had a coffee and bacon sarnie with a couple of ladies I know there. Then I went to Carpetright and checked out carpets for the bedroom but settled on the same Goliath vinyl that I got in the lounge and hall and the guy came on Monday to measure and take the order, so that should be in stock in a couple of weeks so hoping to have that fitted just before I go down to visit Steve, Andy and Kit. All coming together house wise, plus I text the guy who did the wet room last night and he is going to ring me when he is back in the area to quote me for new worktops for the kitchen which I need doing to make best use of the space there

My knee was really bad at the weekend, agony when I was walking and kept me awake at night, but I decided to take the anti-inflammatories again and it, together with a couple of days rest, seems to have helped. My doctor told me that these meds are not for long term use so to only use them when really bad, so I am monitoring my use of them

I think that is me all caught up now, just to say I hope that everyone else is well
