Credit Card for Holiday

I need a credit card for hiring a car on holiday. My problem is i have shyed away from credit having been burnt before, any recommendations? Need a credit limit of approx. £1200 basically as a deposit not really interested in actual credit. Help needed as go in a fortnight!!!

    perhaps i should have added where am i mostly likely to be accepted. i know its difficult but want to avvoid the rejection spiral:D

    and if its just for car hire id rather wait untill u get to the resort and get one with cash.

    Get 10% cashback most of the time through topcashback on car rental, so it's certainly cheaper to book in advance.
  • in contrast to the unhelpful answers above you should look at the Post Office credit card (provided by bank of Ireland) or the Halifax Clarity Credit Card - neither of these charge forex fees and are accepted world wide - however neither are interest free s you may wish to have a 0% balance transfer card lined up to shift any spending once you return home
