Clutzy SD keeps breaking her phone!

Hello everyone

Thinking it is time to get some insurance for SDs iPhone as she keeps breaking it- three months ago it was water damaged, and somehow she managed she drop it today and the screen has smashed and Carphone Warehouse have told us its £180 to repair- yet to get a quote from Apple.

Can anyone recommend a decent insurer? Ideally less than £10PM without a ridiculous excess charge.

Get a bomb proof case. Someone I know has one that they claim you can drop the phone from a 2nd floor window, she got it because she has a young child who likes throwing things.
You can buy screens off ebay for a few pounds complete with the tool to fit it.

Surely the better option is to get her a cheaper, more indestructible phone & only allow her the iPhone back when she has proved she can look after it? By constantly repairing you are not doing her any favours in teaching her to respect things.
  • Do Apple still use Gorilla glass in their iphones? I dropped my wife's Huawei G300 onto our marble (!) hearth yesterday and not even a hint of any damage (I have to say my heart was in my mouth when I was bending down to pick it up, lol).

Why do parents buy children expensive phones that they cannot afford? So stupid.
Yes my daughter does have a mobile - it cost £9.95 from Tesco 5 years ago - it is a simple SMS/phone no fancy bits and it does what it should do. Lets her contact me or a friend if she needs to. And guess what, she is still only on her 3rd £15 voucher in 5 years. And then you wonder why the country is in a financial crisis?

Yup - get her the cheapest, most basic, rugged and unfashonable phones you can find. Then tell her she might get something beter if she can keep it spottless for a year. ;)
