We have just a few tickets for those in pursuit of an evening of classical music, join the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra on the 25th November at 7.30 pm in Fairfield Halls.
With one of music’s greatest melodies, Sibelius’ Finlandia is both darkly thunderous and beautifully evocative. Catching audiences by surprise, the powerful opening later gives way to peaceful sweeping strings in striking Finnish style. One of today’s most talented and popular pianists, Freddy Kempf, joins the orchestra for Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.3, which brims with high drama and flows into a dreamy reflectiveness. Closing the concert will be Dvoř!k's Symphony No.7, considered by many to be the composer’s finest work.
