Vamos Theatre brings together a number of ex-Trestle Theatre members to create Nursing Lives, a full-mask theatre production alive with visual inventiveness, evocative music and song, physical theatre and 1940s dance sequences.

The work originates from the true stories of nurses at the former Worcester Royal Infirmary. At its heart, Nursing Lives is a human story that celebrates nurses at work and play during the years of World War II.

In 1939 Florence is a young trainee nurse thrown directly into the harsh realities of work on the ward. She encounters the wrath of Sister Martin; endures and enjoys the pranks of fellow nurses, falls in love with her soldier sweetheart, Johnny; and confronts the heart wrenching inequalities in the use of the new super drug penicillin.....will her dream of saving lives come true?

Nursing Lives is funny, touching, at times harrowing, but always uplifting and unforgettable. It is designed to appeal to audiences of all ages (8-80 years)

Lion Babe supported by Seinabo Sey


Seinabo Sey is a Swedish soul pop singer signed to Universal Music label. Based in Stockholm, she became known with her single 'Younger', after Kygo, a Norwegian musician remixed the track releasing it in Norway and the United States
'Lion Babe is quite the duo. Consisting of sassy, lion-maned songstress Jillian Hervey (daughter of Vanessa Williams) and producer Lucas Goodman, the group boasts a unique, appealing chemistry. It shines through in the new video for “Jump Hi,” a danceable track that features Childish Gambino. In the clip, which was co-directed by Lion Babe and Kate Moross, Hervey and Goodman frolic around their home base, New York City, playing basketball and challenging each other to jumping contests (hence the name of the song).
Hervey’s brassy vocals and eccentric aesthetic (e.g., the colossal amount of hair that bounces atop her head) paired with a leather-wearing, shyer-seeming, beat-making dude is what establishes the contrast that gives Lion Babe their appeal. Hervey is the face, the attitude, the lion of Lion Babe, while Goodman’s smart production bolsters the pair’s rhythmic infrastructure. '
