An Evening of Benjamin Britten Films and Music including…

Night Mail, The Way To The Sea, The Tocher, Coal Face, The King’s Stamp, God’s Chillun, Peace of Britain, Sixpenny Telegram

Since its launch eight years ago, Aurora Orchestra has established itself as one of the most dynamic and innovative forces on the UK's musical landscape. For its Fairfield Halls debut, Aurora presents Benjamin Britten’s complete existing documentary film scores, performed alongside the original films with narration from actor Samuel West. With subjects ranging from postage stamps to pacifism, the abolition of the slave trade to the electrification of the London–Portsmouth railway, the films are wonderfully made and fascinating historical documents. Britten’s music brilliantly reflects, amplifies and underpins the screen images with scores of rich variety, invention and no little wit. A celebration of composer’s craft, and film-maker’s technique, and a remarkably vivid insight into 1930s Britain.

Ha Ha Holmes! With Joe PasqualeThere’s a beast on the moors, a crime to be solved,

and with the Ha Ha! team on the case – what can go right?! You’d be absolutely barking mad to miss this pipe-smoking new show from theatre’s funniest parodists as Holmes and Watson embark on their most dangerous adventure yet... hunting down The Hound of The Baskervilles. It’s elementary! It’s also downright hilarious as comedy national treasure Joe Pasquale, direct from his West End run in Spamalot, takes on the role of Sherlock Holmes.Applicants for evening shows must get there before 7.00 pm to collect tickets (show starts at 7.30pm). City of Westminster
    London

MAGIC multi-media show by award winning close up magician Steve Truglia. Enjoy and have fun! Short and sweet – 1 hour show !!!! If you love poker, love cards, card magic you MUST see this guy.
The Card Shark show stars Steve Truglia, an accomplished sleight of hand expert and close up magician. Having passed the notoriously rigorous performance exam for The Magic Circle, Steve sought out long ago hidden secrets within the Magic Circle's incredible library, to further study these dark arts. In earlier life Steve's time with UK Special Forces taught him the use of psychological operations to defeat an adversary; skills which are also used by gambling cheats and con artists to this day.

    Over 18s only

Tickets are usually £50+ but the show's producer are really keen on SFF feedback. However he has asked if SFF people would be kind enough to at least buy a £2 show programme for each person who is given a ticket, this is of course optional, but would help support the show, and enable them to continue offering tickets to SFF.
