Karlsson Chase opinions?

Just got a call from West Pier Consultants -- another of these dealers of dodgy deals. I think I might have ask for a free brochure from someone at some point in the past so now I'm on the list. Perhaps the sixth time they have called when I'm home and I grow increasingly rude. They seem impervious.0

Well, these people certainly are cool.
They called again, the guy was James Franks. Told him I thought it was a scam. Said they invested through Carbon Neutral Investements who I would pay directly - I have the Lloyds bank details.
I called CNI and they said they do work in this way eg cold calling. I still think it's a scam and would never invest with them.
The spiel was to start with a smaller investment to build trust and confidence in the returns..... £10 - £15k.....as if I even had that money to invest if I wanted to.
I am interested to see how deep this scam goes....and looking at some links about scams....if it is an actual scam in terms of stealing money....or if it's just a rubbish invesment deal with stupid amounts of fees!
How do I dig further without getting too far involved with these people. In other words how do I check whether Karlsson Chase and the address and telephone number they gave really exists eg:
http://www.karlssonchase.com/about-us/
and
http://www.cn-investments.com/contact-us-2/
Repeat though....I'm not stupid, I don't intend and have never intended to invest with these people....

why would CNI be any more legitimate than KC?0
-
I'm not saying they are....I would just love to prove it and get websites, telephone numbers, domains etc taken down as a result, call it a public service
I did the same a few years ago for some nazi rubbish that was sent to me and had the website shut down within 48 hours....

Report it to the FSA but they probably already have the details and the company on their scam listRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

If that's the case why wouldn't the phone/website/email have been taken down? I believe in more direct action....and it's a simple thing to achieve.
Karlsson Chase were only incorporated December last year and CNI I can only find as Cumbria (not the address on the website) and dormant account in 2010 but active now....0 -
It is interesting to see how many of these boiler room companies have convenience addresses in Docklands; there is a hypnotherapy and NLP centre at this one!
Boiler room companies were featured recently on Panorama but nothing seems to get done to stop them; I remember land in Brazil being discussed on MSE; also eco housing.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

from the link posted by Reaper to FSA website:
"As we do not regulate the sale or trading of carbon credits, a firm promoting or selling them does not necessarily have to be authorised by us and many firms involved in their sale are unlikely to be breaching our rules."
Basically they're selling you something useless that isn't worth the money. This isn't illegal per se although they may be committing frud by false representation. Proving this is difficult and the police can't just take down a website and stop a company from trading because it looks like they are selling something for much more than it is worth.0 -
Absolutely 100% scam. Do not part with any money to these people as you will not see it again.
If you are absolutely clear that you are never going to invest any money with them the only benefit from repeatedly talking to them is that you are taking up their time and preventing them from scamming somebody else.
To repeat what is frequently mentioned here:
1) Genuine investment companies do not cold call
2) If it sounds too good to be true then it almost certainly is!
Tried checking them out as I've also been pestered with cold calling and sales patter. Their web site was down due to maintenance. "Savings offer sounded entertaining 22% over 6 to 9 months on £5000 = £1100 interest. An offer to good to be true. "Give it a rest".0
