im with the three network and my contract ended in 2011 so i can cancel the contract any time so last week my dongle stopped working so I have purchased a pay as you dongle on saturday.

anyway I rang 3 customer service and was passed to there "cancellation team" and spent 20 mins on saturday and 50 mins on sunday with them offering me all these wonderful free things to stop me canceling contract, free ipad or iphone or notebook plus new dongle, they keep on and on so I said leave me alone,
they then rang me back and keep on and on so i said leave me alone.
so is there a way of cancelling my contract by email or write a letter

If you actually bothered to look at your contract it states you need to give 30 days notice in writing. That means by letter and preferably recorded.

yes I have bothered to look at three website yesterday and it says

"You'll need to give us 30 days' notice if you're going to end your contract. You don't have to put it in writing, we can do it all over the phone. Even if your contract has ended you still need to give us 30 days' notice."

so thats why I called three to tell them Im giving 30 days notice but they are only interested in not cancelling my contract so I will write a letter to the complaints department, thankyou for reply

It took me about 25 mins to get through the offers and get it all sorted out. I just kept saying that I didn't use it any more so didn't want to pay for it. I kept saying that if it was free then I would keep it and declined all offers, showing no interest in any of them.

You could try asking to make a complaint if they will not allow you to cancel - might focus them.....

There is no requirement in T&C to cancel by phone thats only their preferred route so they can try and retain you.

You can end your contract with them in writing on 30 days’ notice, outside the Minimum Term. You can end the agreement if your Price Plan does not contain a Minimum Term, or if you want to end the agreement at the end of your Minimum Term or any time after your Minimum Term has expired, provided you give notice to 3 Customer Services at least 30 days before the date you want to end the agreement. (A Cancellation Fee should not be charged.)

So either be persistence with them, they do get message in the end if your firm with them. Or write to them by recorded delivery.
