1/ Locking the area would only be possible with the permission of the owners of the land, and without having the whole area fenced off, probably wouldn't have any effect.
2/ If the kids concerned don't care about other peoples property, I doubt if they will take any notice of a sign.
3/ Not a good idea.
Photographing children in a public place may cause all sorts of problems if their parents complain.
4/ Again, taking photo's of children without their knowledge or parents permission could cause problems for the OP.
5/ Probably the best way to go at the moment.0 -
If you've a neighbourhaood watch, or any kind of residents' group then drawing the attention of all residents to this issue at a meeting might help.
otherwise I'd go with PCSO intervention - ideally a few affected car owners could draw it to their attention.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

What he's said is no worse than what someone like Frankie Boyle tweets. It crosses the line but its obviously tongue in cheek
The airport tweet was a specific threat against a place, that is why the police were involved. It was over the top and rightly squashed but this comment is completely different.
I find it very unlikely that the police would waste their time investigating this.
Of course I expect him to be banned as soon as the mods get round to it!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
A few of us have spoken to the parents but they just shrug and say OK they'll have a word but the kids don't seem to listen.
They were told off for playing in the car park on the other side of the estate as they damaged the wall by knocking massive holes in it with a hammer, unfortunately the parents just don't seem to care. The one boy (11yr old) broke the greenhouse with his football while in the car park and his dad although he replaced it didn't make him apologise or even punish him/tell him off.
I might give the council a ring in the morning and see what they say as im not sure if its owned by them or the local housing association.
Its so frustrating having spent my hard earned cash on a nice car just to have kids ramming into it without a care, if my son ever did anything like that he'd be punished and i would expect a bill from the parents - luckily for me my son has been taught to respect other peoples property.0 -
I live on a private estate with 6 houses and you should see the state of my car, its scratched on every panel and been keyed most of the way round, even the bonnet, had some sort of glue put over every window the drivers side once at 3am, went to the police and they done nothing except make a report on the computer. Makes me angry that someone else can damage my property and im powerless to stop it as ive never actually seen anything done.
My neighbour parks his car outside his front window and yet his car had glue put in all the locks and 'hippo' deeply engraved into the rear bumper. Again, no proof on who done it.
The only signs say no ball games, not 'do not use the cars as leaning posts for bikes or people, do not play army games with plastic guns using the cars as cover and have a bit of respect'0 -
