parking - maybe in the wrong section

At the back of my house we have a car park, anyone can use it but its there for the main use of the houses that surround it (we are on a quiet housing estate) any way recently me as well as the other tenants have been having damage to our vehicles.

Just looking out the window and one of the kids scrapped straight across the back of my car with her bike leaving deep scratches, the same girl was seen a few weeks ago pushing her scooter into another neighbours car.

Is there anything we can do to stop the kids playing in the car park? Its really frustrating not only due to the damage but also they seem to find it funny running out behind the cars while reversing.

Mogwog, regular users are asked to be nice to newbies, but equally, newbies should behave in an appropriate manner. I have also reported your post. It was out of order and could be distressing to some posters.

    Please think before you post.

You could ask your local police to attend, especially if you can identify the child. If there is CCTV, that would be helpful. If not, is it worth the residents asking the landlord of the carpark about either CCTV or a lockable gate to make it accessible only to residents?

Glad to see censorship of the internet is so high on your list of priorities. :)

Also very good of you to divert resources away from bringing real !!!!!philes to justice by reporting someone deliberately winding you up.

As a result, you have helped encourage child abuse.

    Well done.

What a vile sense of humour you have!

Hopefully the comment will be removed soon and you banned.

    Speak to their parents.

If it persists, report it to the police. A couple of officers visiting their address may well get their attention

No, what I have hopefully done is to stop a sicko from posting comments about raping children.
You may find the thought amusing, but you are in a very small minority.

Anyway, if the police or CEOP do decide to follow up on my report, you can explain to them that you were only joking.

No, you have taken resources away from serious issues.

The police do not take kindly to being asked to investigate humour.

You should be arrested for wasting police time.

Try telling that to Paul Chambers who was arrested for a joke posted on Twitter

And how exactly have I wasted any police time?
Anyone is perfectly entitled to contact the police if they feel a crime has been committed, and as far as I'm concerned, a comment such as "Rape the kid instead then" on a public forum is a crime.
If the police don't agree then all they have to do is to log the report and forget about it.

If they want to contact me with regards to the report, I am not in the least bit worried.
Can you honestly say the same if they contact you?

The idiotic comment that escaped from your brain and onto a public forum would not be considered 'humour' by the vast majority of people. If that is your idea of humour then you should consider seeking help for whatever is wrong with your head...perhaps a word from the police will encourage you to do that.

Regulars - please do not feed the troll - he has been reported leave it at that

  • ...aaand.... back on topic...

    1. Can you get lockable gates installed around the area?
    2. Put a sign up saying no ball games, scooters of pavement cycles?
    3. CCTV or photographs to catch them at it.
    4. If you don't know ot can't identify who the parents are to speak with them, try the local schools. If you have pictures/video you could take that and ask them to speak to the children/parents on your behalf.
    5. Contact the local community police unit for some advice on if they can help of suggest anything.

Clearly the incident with cars being damaged - while not deliberate - is distressing but more so the fact they seem to think it's funny to play chicken while people are reversing. For this reason I think you could actually get someone to take note and intervene.
