Ryanair higher headline prices

Ryanair has promised that from Wednesday its headline prices will include "any charge for making payment by debit card".

How do we expect them to play it? Will all fares rise by £6 overnight? Will they display equally prominent discounted fares for holders of the Cash Passport? Maybe the bargain £12 fares will remain at £12 but Cash Passport holders will be able to pick them up for £6?

Maybe Cash Passport holders won't have to pay a new £6 hand baggage charge.

Whatever happens, I guess this forum's going to be busy :D

I'm not sure if Ryanair are getting ready to make the big change at midnight but they are now offering flights from Leeds Bradord and Liverpool for £3.99 or less. I'd hate to think you've been paying £12 Bob when there are much cheaper bargains to be had. Please resist starting a Ryanair Rip Off thread.

I think this is closest to the most likely outcome. Just look at the hand baggage charges made by US airline Spirit for a taste of things to come with Ryanair.

I do hope so, as someone who can travel with pocket luggage only if it saves me money I'll welcome it.

I'm sure anyone could travel with pocket luggage only if they bought a garment with plenty of huge pockets.

The change came into effect today but the front page of the Ryanair website doesn't make a lot of sense. The big banner proclaims "£17" and the small print say it "includes a £6 admin fee which can be avoided....." but some of the prices displayed below are for less or more than £17. It's jumbled up nonsense really.
