Please explain what you mean by "I get my email through the Exchange account" as Exchange usually refers to a corporate email server (e.g. one at your company's premises)
How do I add a signature?

Don't know why they set you up on Exchange when IMAP works perfectly well in itself.

you AFAIK use these settings http://support.google.com/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en-GB&topic=14252&answer=138740
where it says put in your gmail.com email instead put your virgin email, but leave the server as m.google.com

some easier to follow instructions here http://www.solve.uk.com/blog/how-to-setup-ntl-world-email-on-an-ipad.htm
at the end turn off the 'calender' option as virgin email doesn't have a calender, also turn off contacts if you don't want your phone contacts syncing with your virgin email.

if you entered the new password when you just set up exchange then I'm not sure what could be wrong, you could try logging into the webmail on your computer to double check you've got the correct password and then give setting up the Exchange settings on the iPhone a go again (ie delete the profile and re-enter it again)

yes but it doesn't need to be another computer you could use Safari on the iPhone, it's only really to check you have the password 100% correct before you re-enter the Exchange settings.
