Dear oh looor!! I thought our national anthem was boring but have you heard hungary's???_pale__pale_
Aaanyway!! All of my credit problems should be off my record by now, although some of the debts are still outstanding. However, I currently have a credit card with Vanquis with a scaaaary high interest rate :eek: and have been looking to swap it to one with a lower rate. Now I am realistic enough to understand that I may need a credit repair card or initial card which is fine but all these point blank refusals was a) getting me downand
b) giving me a bald head from scratching it so hard as to the reasons why!! :wall:
so... anyway.... I did a credit check....
And.... :think::think:
There was a default on there, registered in 2009 for british gas for the sum of £41...:mad: Now I haven't had a property to have gas at since 2007 and that was paid by direct debit. The default was showing as satisfied but I have absolutely no recollection of paying british gas in 2009 for anything!! :eek:
So I called their complaint line. cutting a long story short a massive apology was immediately forthcoming, absolutely no reason known for the default and i didnt owe them any money!Default has been immediately removed and a cheque for £50 is in the post!! :beer::dance::T
I shall post this and then detail the next surprising entry... which will be long... you may need a comfy chair... and a duvet...:oCurrent debt at 30/07/2012 19.479!! 06082012 19119 :T

since 2007 I have been having an ongoing, distressing and horrible battle with SHabbey, now known as Santander. They are claiming that I owe just over 1150 and have put a bouncing default onto my credit report. Bouncing as it has been on and off the report more times than a yoyo. The basis is that I deny i owe any money to them whatsoever. I pay my debts and always have done, and this isnt my debt!!
Looking at my credit report today, the default has been put back on, completely in contravention to the consumer credit act pertaining to debts in dispute and has been dated 17062012, 5 years after the date of the original default!!!
Now I have fought this for 5 years and never ever get anywhere despite following shabbeys own complaint procedures and am absolutely sick of it! So the FOS have been contacted and sent into battle and state that from my very long story (cut very short here!) they have acted abhorently...

Great news re the gas default!! Although of course it should never have happened in the first place, it's still a nice little earner for you now that its all sorted.
Well done for involving the FOS re Santander though. I've never known such carp customer service etc from a company/institution. I actually used to work for abbey and therefore had most financial products with them (not very MSE I know but I didn't know it then, and to be fair the staff discounts were decent!). Then they were taken over by Santander and I've slowly but surely been moving things away from them. They were absolutely awful when DH had his accident. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. Well maybe my WORST enemy ......:rotfl:.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Thanks hon! I was absolutely amazed at the speed in which they sorted it out, usually it is "write into us, we have 28 days to respond" blah blah yadder but to be honest it was so swift i am amazed. :T One up to british gas i have to say!!
