Afternoon everyone! :hello:
Big hugs to LouLou and everyone else who needs one.
DH and I are celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary today. I keep telling him how lucky he is... :rotfl: He's been helping his sister in the garden this morning, for which she was really grateful. She's going through a divorce after her husband walked out on her and their two children last year.
The sun keeps popping out and then hiding. I won't mention it any more, but it would be nice if it stayed out. I was kind of getting used to it!!!
I need to fish around in the freezer for a tub of spag bol which I made in the week. We went out for our anniversary meal last night, so tonight it's back to normal though we have been given a bottle of champagne by FIL and MIL.
Right, more washing and ironing to do. I'm working in a grain lab for the next 4.5wks for the harvest campaign in order to get a bit more money to pay off my car and do some bits on the house. It's never ending! On the plus side, I'll be living with my parents and be able to walk their dog on a daily basis and popping back home to DH at the weekends.
Have a good day everyone

Good Afternoon All.
Lou, glad you posted. Keep on keeping on, as they say!
Church this morning, and we all went, including DS and DGD which was nice. Just waiting on the roast lamb for lunch...fabulous aromas drifting in from the kitchen right now!
I need to go and change our bedding. Just had a sharp shower, but over already - how I like it!
DS is glued to DH's laptop looking for one bedroom flats in London. He needs to leave his current flat as benefit cuts mean it's too expensive. Fingers crossed something turns up soon.
Day 9 of our latest friendship cake - but I'm not sure I can think of anyone else to pass it on to! Still, I can freeze some I guess, so intend to bake two tomorrow, keep one portion to carry on and then freeze the remaining portion.
Hope you're all enjoying a pleasant Sunday, whatever you're doing.Resolution:

Afternoon all
Torrential rain here, after we'd watered the garden! Still I got hubby's work clothes washed & dried before the rain started & we picked more beans, carrots & the first sweetcorn of the year.
I've started to reorganise the kitchen & later need to have a sort out in the spare room. We have a double bed in there at the moment but it's old & needs replacing, I'm thinking of replacing it with 2 singles.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Afternoon everyone. I was quite OS yesterday, making lots of food for the freezer (5 dinners worth of aubergine & chickpea curry and 4 of bacon and veg pasta sauce). Poor freezer is absolutely rammed as usual, have now even had to start using the small "subsidiary freezer" we have in this place.
Then I had been sitting down for 5 minutes with the front door open as it was really hot, got up to go back in the kitchen and a cat zoomed out of the hallway and vanished down the road. Cheeky thing, this isn't its house!
A bit less so today, giant lie-in then put away the dried washing and washed the bedding, and made a sort of using-up-bits lunch out of toasted YS panini with garlic mushrooms and a smidge of grated cheese end on. We're off to OH's parents for dinner later on, and just finished off the rest of my Graze Box. Has anyone else had these? I only ever get them when I can get a free one, they're lovely but I couldn't justify paying for it all the time. Plus you're meant to eat one of the pots as a snack each day, but I can't help scoffing the lot all in one go!0 -
Lou: Alive and breathing will do for the moment. Just think of the waves of love and concern washing about here at the moment.
LW: I knew you would understand. They were both a bit bedraggled and smelly and I wanted to take them both home and give them some TLC - interfering old bat that I am. They are probably very happy just as they are.
Just off to the Drop-in bearing a Lemon Love Cake and a large rhubarb and apple crumble, plus bags of goodies from our 2 churches.
May call in here again later.I believe that friends are quiet angels
