How do I find out how much land sold for at auction?

As a stakeholder in a business I'm trying to find out how much the company bought land for a few years ago at auction, but I have no knowledge of how to go about it.

Can I use the land registry website?

if you know the auctioneers you can visit their website and look for past auctions. failing that LR may offer it.

Details of the price paid (PPI) (the consideration stated in the Transfer) may well appear on the registered title. Guidance as to the entry of the PPI is provided online in our Practice Guide 7

You can view a register online using our online services - if you have the title number (our reference) for the land in question then you can use this to complete your search.

If you do not have the title number then you can make a Map enquiry by identifying the land on an aerial image or street map. The easiest way to do this is to centre the map on a nearby postal address and then navigate to the land itself. The service will advise if any information is available online.

If information is available then you would need to register yourself and then pay a minimum fee of £4 to view the register. The fees payable are explained online.

If no information is available online you can complete a postal application to establish whether the land is registered and if so under what title number(s) which can then be used to obtain details online or by post thereafter - see our Public Guide 1 on what information we hold and how to obtain it.
