Sun £9.50 Holidays - going abroad?

Has anyone used the £9.50 holidays to take advantage of going to any of the parks on the continent??
I missed out this year - couldn't really afford it or get the time off work, but I'm thinking if I planned it right and saved, I could take me and the kids actually abroad next year using the £9.50 holidays.
Has anybody done it? Was it worthwhile? And roughly how much did it all cost, not including spending/food etc whilst there?
Any advice or stories would be great!

Hi,
My son and I recently took advantage of The Sun holidays to go to De Twee Bruggen holiday park in Holland. We went during the February mid term break for 7 nights, so we paid £121.90 (£30 per person, minimum of 4, plus £1.90 booking fee) to The Sun on booking the holiday. We paid an additional £49 (£7 per unit per night) service fee to the holiday park.I used Tesco vouchers and booked the Stena Line ferry from Harwich to Hoek van Holland as the travelling time from the port to the park was roughly an hour - the cost of the ferry was £207, and included a 2 course lunch on the way to Holland. On arrival at the park we had to pay another 1.10 Euro per person per day tourist tax.
I would definitely recommend going to Europe courtesy of The Sun, and can highly recommend De Twee Bruggen for a family holiday.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Me and OH went to Duinrell at Wassenaar in Holland in June. We paid £120 for 7 nights plus payment for linen - can't remember how much but not a lot.
We booked a ferry from Dover to Dunkirk which was £70. We decided that the savings as opposed to going to Hook of Holland would more than pay for fuel which was certainly true as we used very little fuel and, on the whole, it was cheaper there than here.
We stayed in Belgium for 3 nights before we went onto Holland. The journey from Belgium was about 5 hours but that was not driving that fast and stopping a couple of times.
The park we went to has a massive theme park. It's meant to be like Alton Towers and is free if you are staying on site. We did not go into it (bit old for that sort of thing) but spoke to parents there who said it was brilliant - their children loved it, there was masses to do and they did not really need to go outside the park.
We were very impressed with our mobile home - spacious, well equipped and very clean. It had a large deck outside with table and chairs, loungers and barbeque.
There was a supermarket on site, pretty large, well stocked and not bad prices, a pub and a couple of restaurants (we didn't use the restaurants or pub). You could hire bikes which I think were quite reasonable prices.
The town of Wassenaar was about a 5 minute walk away. It is very pretty with a good selection of shops (a very good supermarket) and some nice restaurants. We had breakfast there most days and found somewhere doing croissant, baguette, butter, jam and coffee for 1 euro which is about 85p I believe!!!
We had originally intended to go to loads of places. I spent some time in Holland years ago before I met OH and wanted to go back to the places I had been to but we ended up only going to Wassenaar, Leiden (which is beautiful - full of cobbled streets, canals and bridges), The Hague and somewhere on the coast (can't remember how to spell it!). We went to Leiden several times because we loved it there so much and The Hague and the seaside place twice each.
We are going to go back next year so that we can visit other places. We are thinking of going for 2 weeks.
I would certainly recommend it.
We had beautiful weather - the weather here was awful at the time but even if the weather had not been great I am sure we would still have enjoyed itThe world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0
