3 weeks ago 1 of my 3 contracts with voda had expired, called to see why it had ended as I thought I still had a week or so before it ended, advisor I spoke to offered me a good deal if I restored my contract, stupidly agreed and requested he put me through to the relevant department to confirm the deal, he stated this was only possible once I agreed to restore (can you see where it's going?), so I agreed. He then transferred me to the relevant department who stated the said deal could not be offered, I obviously kicked off, then spoke to a manger who said the conversation would have to be listened in to and if the said deal was offered it would have to honoured, the listening in of the call would take UPTO 32 hours.

2 weeks later still no response, called and again messed about with misinformation and conflicting advice so again spoke to a manager who informed me the request to listen into the call had not been made but she would ensure it happens this time round and would take UPTO 32 hours.

1 week later (3 weeks in total) no response, spent over 4 hours trying to get hold of a manger to resolve the issue, either they werent available or I missed their call back (can't take calls at work) as they did not call back at the agreed times! Finally spoke to a manger who told me that they would NOT honour the deal, even though 2 previous mangers said once the call was listened into they would have to honour it, he was very rude and abrupt and stated I wanted a quick resolution so that's what I had been given!!!

He was very flippant and rude and continuously spoke over me and would not let me get my point a cross, after stating I wanted to escalte the matter with customer services I ended the call, he then called me back after a few minutes didn't once apologise but changed his tone and stated that the call would be listened into and a decision made whether to honour the initial offer made to me in the first instance, but it would take upto 5 days for the call to be listened into and potentially 3 days for a decision to be made!!! THAT'S 8 DAYS ON TOP OF THE 3 WEEKS I'VE ALREADY HAD TO WAIT!!

I have been a customer for over 4 years and have 3 contracts with them, and initially upon joining them referred over 11 people (to be fair it was a good deal at the time!), but needless to say I have requested my PAC code and given notice on the other 2 contracts!

Throughout my time with them there has always been issues, customers service is hit and miss, 70% miss I'd say, only reason I've stayed with the this long is convenience! Not any more though, I'm off to T-Mobile unless they offer me something spectacular!!!

Vodafone are expensive and don't care about loyal customers. They do have good coverage though!

I would never leave O2. I have in the past and ended up back again! I now have 5 O2 phones and I'm very happy.

My Vodafone experience was awful. Terrible customer service, they don't care about anything except getting monthly payments out of you...

Had numerous run-ins with Vodafone and i totally regret the day myself and my husband left o2.

Our contracts are up in 2013 and NO WAY will i be staying with Vodafone, its been 2 years of constant calls and emails of complaint.

I certainly do not recommend their customer service skills whatsoever.

I can't use Orange or T-Mobile in my house because of reception. Just running down my Orange contract and finishing it when it is out of minimum time period.

Tried "3". Even worse reception and probably the worst CS team by reputation.

Could have gone with Tesco last time, but advice from others plus some threads on here indicates that O2 can restrict Tesco customers when peak call on their network.

So, apart from other piggy backers, was obliged to user either O2 or Vodafone.

Every year, I do a comparison (sim-only). Each time, O2 has proved much more expensive so have stuck with Vodafone.

Their reception is good and I have been lucky with their CS. Yes, there is the de-mating ritual at renewal time with a nice call from their retentions team, but apart from that, I have no complaints.

But I respect the opinions of others who have had problems.

I have two contracts one with Virgin and a new one with Talkmobile (they use Vodafone network).

I've been with Virgin for years and they are unbeatable on price and their CS is excellent for mobiles and they also stick to what they promise.

Talkmobile I was warned about their CS but from my first couple of dealings with them they are excellent.

I have to ask why awesome2 would consider changing from anyone else to Vodafone. IMO they are the Santander of the mobile phone world: the most complained about - and this is only one forum out of presumably thousands.

They wear you down by a process of attrition, which is presumably deliberate. They can't even send paper bills which are being paid for, without arguing the toss until they pummel the customer into wearily giving up and vowing to leave them forever. When you are finally allowed to leave them forever. (see posts passim)

VF have a very good network, thats about where the good news ends though. Customer service is friendly but in terms of actually helping you its abysmal. They have service centres all over the world and not one seems to know what is going on or be able to do anything other than fob you off.

The things the sales staff say to you to get you to sign up can be very misleading indeed. The cherry on the cake is Vodafones utterl brazen habits of changing the terms and conditions of contracts mid term, always to the customer's detriment. Prices go up, bloatware is installed on your phone overnight, out of bundle costs double, whenever they feel like it.

Wild horses could not drag me back to a 24 month Vodafone contract. You simply have no clue what you are signing up to, or how they will change it when you are committed.

The UK 2nd line support team when you can get hold of them are actually very helpful but they are a small island of sanity in the midst of a giant dysfunctional global corporation that clearly could not care less.
