Where is this figure coming from? You have to pay for your own rent and childcare. Why are people so entitled!?0 -

£10 on top of wages.
It should never be about how much more do I earn on top of benefits, it is about being able to work. Benefits are a safety net - that is their intent not so that people can pick and chose whether to remain on them despite an offer of employment.
Is OP going to fully admit to the JC+ he refused to apply because it was only £180 a month more? I don't see it somehow.
How many people anywhere would be "not much better off on benefits?". I'm not sure I am much better off working and paying for a car (I could do without otherwise) and childcare than I would be on benefits.
I can't get over the attitudes on here sometimes - advising someone to go against their JSA Agreement - therefore lying and deceving to get benefits because they are only £180 a month better off.
I'd also wager his WP will advise JC+ anyway - then if he is sanctioned he can explain why and it must be OK because people on here said so.0 -
Its the 'I'm not much better off by working' is what is bringing Britain to it's knees, that and the fact that so many people are on the sick who are quite capable of doing a job of some sort.
I dont pay tax anymore, but Ive certainly paid my share over the years. For all the tax and NI I paid over 47 years of working I get the princely sum of 60% state benefit and nothing else from the state. And I do mean nothing, zilch.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

when you say you get nothing else from the state zilch , dont you get a bigger personal tax allowance over 65 as to people under this ???
i dont no how you have come to this conclusion ,at sometime of your working life you would have had sickness pay from the goverment payed to your employer , and child benifit if you have kids and prob other benefits which were payable at times ! so you have had your share if this is the case dont you think0 -
Absolutley and what about all the people on the dole now who have paid taxes in the past which have gone towards your kids being schooled etc.
Do you know how much it costs per child to be educated per year? grands. Are you really that different from an unemployed person? You've just taken out of the pot with a different hand.0 -
Oh, just let him rot - he's been farting about like this for 18 months.

Well, I'm not 65 yet so my tax allowance is 8105
Employer was too big to claim back sick pay. worked for them 25 years, never been off sick before that so no sick pay from any company other than a small amount frome them.
Child benefit only
Nothing else claimed ever from the government.
What I said was I get Zilch from the government now apart from my 60& state pensionmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

You have claimed off the state, not only because your kids have been schooled but through their medical appointments, dental care, free prescriptions, immunizations, schoool nurse visits etc.
You havent paid for all that yourself you know.
You should be on your bended knee thanking tax payers yourself for all the money you have taken off them because they have supported your kids. Its not just about child allowance you know.
How can you really look down on an unemployed person? when you have been a taker for years yourself.?0
