We do this with cheese too, i mean after all cheese is just off milk.
My kids love raw cake mix and beg me to mix it up fpr them just so that they can eat it. mmmm cake mix

Cake mix from the bowl is the reason I bother to make cakes
I have a 10 second floor rule but often dont count anyway and just pick off any visible grot
I work in the garden then make my lunch without cleaning the soil from under my nails
I eat jam that has had a frisbee of mould on it
I use eggs waaaaaay past their use by date as long as they smell OK
I eat reheated rice nearly every day for lunch
I eat fruit and veg without washing it
and I'm still alive and kicking0 -

You would know if you ever did eat reheated rice that wasn't heated enough, believe me _pale_0 -

I have been known to cut mold off cheese and use the rest,
Cake mix mmm
Use by date - What's one of them?0 -
I love this thread!!
I do all of the things that have been mentioned so far...- I had some spaghetti bolognese that I had forgotten to put in tupperware last week (the 2-3 glasses of red wine may have had something to do with that) and it was left out overnight. I gave it a sniff the next morning and then took it into work for lunch. And shock horror!!! I didn't die!!
- I also eat fruit and veg without washing it unless there are serious mucky bits on them.
- I chop off the gross growth-y bits on potatoes that are a bit too old and cook them anyway (have to do this in secret as hubby is v against this)
- I also have a 10 second rule if I drop things...but forget to count and then just blow on it :rotfl:
- Erm....are you supposed to keep jam in the fridge??

I work in a food lab where we test things for bacteria and what not, and I know that something doesn't have to have visable mold for it to be harbouring bacteria so I'd never eat cheese/jam that had mold on it! I'm not saying you shouldn't, jsut a personal preference. :P
I grew up in a house where nothing was ever eating past the best before date, and my mum still cringes at the thought of it! Lately I have started eating things slightly past the date, not throwing eggs the day before they're due to go off and just cutting slightly sprouty bits off potatoes. Not as 'naughty' as you lot yet i'm afraid! :P0 -

People who say this about not re-heating rice always make me laugh.
Egg freid rice is traditionally made with cooked rice that has been chilled!0 -
