But we are in Europe and you can't call yourself and Engineer without degree level qualifications in much of Europe (e.g. France, Germany)... :mad:It annoys the hell out of me that all my studies were for nothing (apparently).
{Actually as I'm not a Chartered Engineer perhaps I shouldn't be so touchy}.
Well i'm sorry but i live in Britian not europe, i conform to the British standards, the British gas regs & the British building regs (ok maybe now i'm being touchy),
BTW just from those two pics i can see 4 major faults with that flue, everyone of them at risk which would mean being upgraded to imediately dangerious, plus as the flue has been altered incorrectly would also mean a riddor report going off to the HSEI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

Reminds me of the poster that was doing the rounds when they brought in fast track apprenticeships into engineering.
It was done to wind up those of us who had learnt our trade to traditional way with lengthy college and study times.
Featured an acne faced little oik of about 17 years of age, looked like plug out of the Beano, under it was the wording;
six munch ago I cuddn't even speel injineerin, now I are won.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Hello
So it seems basically my Dad has been taking this whole fixing the boiler thing way too lightly. Our old boiler which gave up a month ago was set up exactly like this would be now. I'll make sure we don't go any further with this "project" until we get competent assistance. I guess his attitude makes sense, he'll do anything to spend as little money as possible given our circumstances.
It would be great if someone could advise me how we should go about looking for a qualified person to carry out the installation (we're in Northern Ireland if that makes any difference).
Thanks guys0 -
Don't know if the gas safe/boiler thing applies over your way or not,
google the issue and the answer should pop up.
But it's good that you are getting a grasp of the issue:TI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
