in my first ever HB visit 2 weeks ago, bought a much-needed pack of hayfever tablets for about 69p. that's much cheaper than anywhere like superdrug or wilko's (far cheaper than boots by a mile). also some tins of mackerel that was something like 60/70p that's about 20 - 40p than anywhere else s/market-wise. was impressed with the range. bought a litre shampoo for £2. was tempted to buy some all black and black/purply and yellow striped petunias for 99p each, but couldn't coz i bought them for £3 each at homebase a month ago!!!0

A store has just opened locally. I've only visited twice, and bought one item each time. I'm sure there are some items which are a good price, but also many which are not particularly cheap. Not sure I'll bother going again.Stompa0

Stompa, ours seems to change some stock (near the front of the store) quite regularly so you may find next time you pop in you will find a bargain, if it's not a long trip it would be a shame to miss out.0

You can sometimes get the Charles Worthington full size shampoo/conditioners for £2 and they are usually £5 in the likes of Boots/Asda.
I find Home Bargains is good for little books/rulers/pen sets that literally cost less than 40p (sometimes 19p) that are excellent to go into the Shoeboxes at Christmas0 -
Things I pretty much only ever get at HBs -
Loo roll; as mentioned above
Kitchen roll; also nicky, 3 for a pound and good quality
Vimto; 1l plus 33% extra for 99p
Fairy liquid; £1.39 for a litre ( I think) lasts forever!
Astonish laundry liquid; £1.99 for big bottle, again lasts me ages
Microwave rice; not for everyone, or very mse, but 49p a pack its my lazy guilty shortcut!
Stuff like shower gel, toothpaste, batiste etc they always have a good range and the same price if not cheaper than making a trip to grahams/bodycare.
Random groceries like fish sauce, coconut milk and stock cubes can be a bargain too,oh and i always got my stocking filler sweets and chocs from there too.0 -
Don't have a Home Bargains anywhere near me.
Poundland - 2 cans Winalot for £1 so six for £3 which is generally cheaper than any supermarket offer and dawg lurves their duck & rabbit. Sarson's malt vinegar 2 for £1.
99p Stores - 6 good quality kitchen rolls, 99p0 -
I love Home Bargains
They're really good for food items (tins, noodles etc), toilet paper (9 for £1.99 and soft!), stocking fillers, baby toys etc. My latest bargain has been organic baby mash, usually £2.69 in tesco but 49p in home bargains! They have saved me so much money, along with b&m

Yes, great shop, but as others have said you have to watch the prices as some things are more expensive (I presume to make up for loss leaders). They tend to show the RRP for most stuff - but a lot of those highs RRPs are not actually ever sold at. But if you know your prices you will get some bargains!0
