Depends whether their notices warn of clamping. If not, then it's illegal now, never mind in October

If I was really cynical I'd say that in their minds it wouldnt matter if it were legal or not as come October they would wind the company down/go bust/liquidation anyway. "get it while you can then liquidate the company (name) we can no longer use"

Cant imagine a company called "the wheel clamping company" being around long when clamping is banned..

But then I'm not cynical... ;)

I've attached pics of the notices on display.

Apologies for the angle but they were up a lamp post and I don't do ladders! Also it was very :cool2:

Personally I wouldnt risk it, at least until October, although you say they havent clamped for 3 years they could start again at any time, especially leading up to a point where it no longer becomes a revenue stream for them.

They may well have a "get it while we can" during September..

OK, slight warning, ALL those signs do mention the risk of being clamped.

So if you were clamped then the 'I was not aware of the risk' defence does not apply. They will probably screw up in other places, but its expensive to get the clamp released and lots of hassle to sue for the money to be returned.

    Just be aware.

Unlikely to know as they have yet to start clamping, we just expect them to start before October.

  • Update on this

The new PPC is now Total Parking Solutions (TPS) who when I google seems to be yet another bunch of eejits who try to squeeze money out of staff and students who park here.

They have yet to put up new signage advertising their T and C's so until then I will park here :D.

Googling them again, not one of their 'civil invoices' has made it to court and the motorist didn't need to pay.

Again the devil in me sooo wants to keep parking here, collect invoices and ignore them until they go away

Not a wise idea as given enough invoices, they may well try their luck in court.

Not sure why you just don't pay the £16. Seems very reasonable to me.
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

This year you can either pay up front (£16 per month) OR pay £1 per day from the meter.

Either way they are making a packet out of people who choose to pay on land we own!

Many staff like me are refusing to pay and parking on the road or on the retail park nearby.
