This was bound to happen. Once Bristol and Nottingham have done it, others will or have followed.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -

Was this discussed with workforce or a "Fait Accompli"I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
No discussion afaik, it's either park on there and pay up or don't park there!
Several staff members (and visitors) have been ticketed, paid their £45 'fine' and not a word has been said to dispute it.
You have kindly given so much info on this I'm surprised no other staff member has questioned the 'legality' of tickets issued!
The devil in me is tempted to park on here just to see if I get a ticket, not pay and see what repercussions (if any) happen

Could you print a load of notices outlining the unenforceability of these "tickets", mentioning this forum of course, and put them on every car and every notice board at work?SusieWinwood wrote: »Several staff members (and visitors) have been ticketed, paid their £45 'fine' and not a word has been said to dispute it.
Go for it. Just what I would do. Keep us informed of course!SusieWinwood wrote: »The devil in me is tempted to park on here just to see if I get a ticket, not pay and see what repercussions (if any) happen0 -
Check the wording on your contracts first, just to make sure they don't say they can deduct any outstanding charges from your salary. Was any reason given why they should suddenly impose this?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I would want to be 100% sure of that before getting a ticket to see what happens (which is what I would do BTW)
If the PPC is calling itself "the wheelclamping company" I would think they would see this as fair game. They may have just said they will put tickets on peoples screens, but get a couple of tickets and I wouldnt mind betting a clamp would follow..
Just sounds like it could be a "last hurrah" to get as many clamps on before October to me, especially as they dont seem to be registered with the BPA who is apparently advising that their PPCs stop in September.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!

(a) It will be illegal to clamp on private land from Oct 1st
(b) Unless there are signs prominently displayed which warn that clamping is in operation, they cannot clamp now anyway.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
peter_the_piper - It's not suddenly been imposed, parking has been charged here for ions. It was £10 per month last year and has risen to £16 come September. Daylight robbery at it's best I think - even !!!!!! Turpin wore a mask!

Clamps were used a few years ago but not for about 3 years I think.
Tbh I can't recall anything on anyones contract re taking any unpaid monies out of salary. I suppose it's never been tested!

Depends whether their notices warn of clamping. If not, then it's illegal now, never mind in October0
