Goofbay - as soon as someone puts a bid on it, you can see how many watchers there are:

I'm not sure how people know which number watcher they are though - I expect someone will tell us in a minute!

  • Hello everyone :-)

My name is smudge2k09, im the ebay member your all talking about !!! (I'd like to thank the guy (Scooby) who sent me the link to this discussion.)

I have read all the posts and First of all i would like to give you all a little snippet of my background.

I have been an eBay member for over 3 years and in that time i have had some great times buying and selling and chatting with other eBay members. However, in april this year i lost my mother in rather tragic circumstances. She was 76 so had a good innings but she had a heart attack and died in less than 24hours. This obviously has had a very profound and lasting effect on me as there was little time to say goodbye etc etc. Shortly after this i was refered to my GP who decided that a cource of anti-depressant madication was needed. I'm not one to cave in and fall to pieces and accept this type of treatment easilly. But my GP was'nt taking no for an answer so i agreed i'd give it a go and see how things went. Now, after taking this medication it has had a rather adverse effect on me and altered my mind in a way that i can't describe here.

After going back to my GP i am now in the process of coming off this medication because i believe it's done more harm than good.

Please note, i am not seeking pity here, i don't wan't or need any ones pity. Nor am I going to bang on about my personal life and bore you all silly and try to excuse my behaviour. I hope this goes a little way to explain the situation, thats all.

I would also like you all to know that i have a (sometimes) insane sense of humour which has got me into more trouble than you can imagine.! Combine this with strong medication and/or alcohol and it's double trouble.!! (Yes i do like a drink now and again.) and i also recognise that it's not a good idea to mix all the above then go on-line and try to act sensible ! It just ain't gonna happen, I've lost count of the times i've switched my PC on only to be met with threatening E-Mails from moderators outlining words and sentences that i don't even recognise i've said the night before !! (I'm been totally frank and open here and i hope at least a small persentage of you give a little respect for that, i'm only human and i'm far from perfect. Also i doub't very much that we all have a clean slate when it comes to hitting the 'send' button without thinking of the consequenses first..! Not only that, around the web there are some very vicious back stabbing people about that will report you for the slightest wrong thing said. Also i think 'SOME' moderators need to relax a bit and realise when someone is being jokey rather than serious. It's too much of a fine line, and there also appears to be some 'favouritism' going on... That's my oppinion, for what it's worth.

Anyway with all that in mind, onto the points raised here regarding my ebay listing. Someone mentioned about MY mehtod of postage saying that i was prepared to post my item without any insurance. This is a totally biased and unjust assumption !! As, with all my eBay items that fetch over a certain amount, i send via special delivery with tracking. Someone mentioned about 'Blue Tac'....Now the reason why some of the parts on my item are held on with blue tac is for a very good reason. I'ts so they can be removed easilly for painting and once painted they can then be permanently glued into place. I hope that clears that up.

Now regarding the bit a bout "God and Churches". I would like to apologise if i hurt anyones feelings, that was not my intention ! (please read the above.) I have nothing against God and Churches !

I am sure that some of the more 'stern' readers will pick and poke holes in what i have said. My oppinion on that is 'your welcome'.

I have not come here to discuss this. Since it was brought to my attention, i'm only here to put my side accross, as it were.

I conclude, and it is with a heavy heart that, after today, i have decided that i will not be continuing on eBay for the forseeable future
due to the reasons given above.

This is a brilliant site, very informative.

I hope you all have a cracking sunday afternoon. I'm sure i will !!

    Best wishes. Smudge XXXXX

On a lighter note and regarding God and Churches, i came across these stories, i hope you like them as much as i did.

ONLY IN TEXAS ... Texas Beer Joint Sues Church in MT.Vernon, Texas . Drummond's Bar began construction on an expansion of their building to increase their business. In response, the local Baptist Church started a campaign with petitions and prayers to block the bar from expanding. Work progressed right up until the week before the grand reopening when lightning struck the bar and it burned to the ground! After it was burned to the ground by the lightning strike, the church folks were rather smug in their outlook, bragging about "the power of prayer", until the bar owner sued the church on the grounds that the church ... "was ultimately responsible for the demise of his building, either through direct or indirect actions or means." In its reply to the court, the church vehemently denied all responsibility or any connection to the building's demise. The judge read through the plaintiff's complaint and the defendant's reply, and at the opening hearing he commented, "I don't know how I'm going to decide this, but it appears from the paperwork that we have a bar owner who believes in the power of prayer, and an entire church congregation that now does not."

A biker was riding along a California beach when suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, the Almighty said, "Because you have TRIED to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish."
The biker pulled over and said, "Build a bridge to Hawaii so I can ride over anytime I want."

The Almighty said, "Your request is materialistic.
Think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking.
The supports required to reach the bottom of the Pacific!
The concrete and steel it would take!
It will nearly exhaust several natural resources.
I can do it, but it is hard for Me to justify your desire for worldly things.
Take a little more time and think of something that could possibly help mankind."

The biker thought about it for a long time.
Finally he said, "Almighty, I wish that I and all men could understand our wives.
I want to know how she feels inside, what she’s thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing’s wrong, and how I can make a woman truly happy."

The Almighty replied, "About that bridge, do you want 3 lanes or four?!
