Would all providers give the same speed to an address? I'm moving soon and the provider I was going to sign up with would be really slow and fibre optic isn't available. It's estimated to be 1to 3 thingys. Could I do better with a different company?

Not by much, the speed you get depends on the distance you are from the telephone exchange as the cable runs, not straight line, and the age & condition of the drop cable from the equipment in the exchange to the master socket. The speed difference between the various suppliers will be marginal.
If between 1-3 MBps is all they say you can get, then that's it.Put the phone number/postcode into the link below & that'll tell you the speeds at that address.
