Just had a letter from Argos that they will pay £5634.81 towards Zara's operation, the remaining £65 is my excess... big sigh of relief as it was dragging on for a while TBH and I was getting a bit worried.

Argos has changed underwritters, Zara's renewal is due 28th October and I know the preminum will jump sky high (£48 at the moment) but she willneed the other leg done in November so.....

When my cats were due for renewal in June and I saw the price - moved 5 out of 6 to Petplan. George can not be moved as he has a pre-exiting so George alone is £24 with Argos.. a cat.. sigh...

BUt - I would nto be without the insurance, George;s ops were nearly 5k and that was before he was even a year old and now Zara at 5700 per leg....

All my lot are insured for 7k per year..but if I was to do it aga8in, would have gone for more with a dog TBH

Big sigh of relief for Zara's payout GR .....:T

The £10k cover was another of the reasons I liked the JL policy (I know PP do one but it's a lot more expensive whereas this one was only another £1/month).

The PP quote thing has the £4k and £7k on the same benefits and you select which one you want - stupidly, I'd somehow managed to select £4k (which I didn't want) and now I can't change it ....

Will stay with JL just now (really can't face having to move again atm!:o) and think about it again in a couple of months - may see if I can move back to PP or will look at Axa direct in more depth

It's like others have said - the whole thing's a minefield - tbh most people would think £4k would be enough but the cost of having anything done soon eats it's way through it!

    It is a minefield...

Zara and Tiger were insured with M&S originally but when after a year their premiums went up 100% - moved to Argos. Tiger died, got kittens, insured with Argos. Zara and Goerge had problems so now stay with Argos but moved the rest to Pet Plan.

In all honesty - I had no problems with Argos apart from the preminum hikes BUT they paid a lot for George and Zara so.. fair enough.
