E2save nightmare company and misleading
I had a phone call from Darren telling me he was from Carphone Warehouse and I was due for an upgrade. I said yes because, I always deal with Carphone warehouse, I was told he could reduce the tarriff, so I said yes.
The phone arrived today and I was not happy as it was not the phone I thought it would be, so i rung the CPW and they told me to take it back to any shop. There I was told the truth, it was E2save and they could not accept the phone back and to ring E2save direct.
what a bloody nightmare, I was told I would have to pay to send it back I refused as I was misled, and was told she would request the phone call to check and if so would refund the postage.
Then I was told I would have to cancel my insurance and Gadget support. I DID NOT take this out and it was not mentioned in the initial call,
Having rung the two number she gave me, they could not find insurance or gadget support, but to ring back in 10 days as it can take that long for the info to be sent.
I have sent the phone back as I want everything to do with this company cancelled, and hope they will refund me.
I will never deal with this company again, they mislead people just for a sale/comission
And on top of all that the phone calls to E2save cost 10p a min
and the other two insurance, and gadget support are 0844/0870 numbers.
Having now read reviews, about this company, they do a lot of this sort of thing, but I am now worried how long it will take to get it sorted, some people have had their sims deactivated by this company

I've just taken out a contract with e2save for my mum and cancelled both the insurance and gadget helpline online. this is the advice that I used:"Insurance cancelled, call this number 08004586117 ( http://www.geeksquad.co.uk/contactus/cancel) They send confirmation through the post.
To cancel the other service you contact TMTI - ask the adviser on the above number to transfer you therefore the call remains free, she did for me. They email cancellation confirmation"
from post #280 by Physcho Jack
geek squad (TMTI):
"For those still needing to cancel I did mine this way:
email: gadgethelpline@tmti.net (include Ref No., Name and address), Quick response acknowledging cancellation.
"
I used the online form for the insurance and the email for the Gadget support.
Very naughty of them to sign you up for the 2 optional things without telling you - at least if you order direct online like I did its clear that you are getting these added.0 -

I too was phoned last week and offered an upgrade to an Iphone 4s. I agreed to it as it was lower monthly bills and they said they were from Carphone Warehouse.
They dispatched the new phone, apparenty, but it was not received by myself. When my old phone was disconnected at the weekend, I contacted the Carphone Warehouse and was put through to these people for the first of many lengthy and expensive calls. They explained that apparently my phone had been delivered and signed for. I explianed it had not - so they spoke to the courier company. Aparently, according to Yodel, the phone was signed for by a Carla who was outside my house at the time of delivery. This apparently means that it is my responsibility to now claim on my insurance as, as far as E2Save are concerned, the delivery was made. No matter that no attempt was made to actually deliver it to me, or ensure that this person outside my house was actually a member of my household. They have now washed their hands of it.
As much as I resent the idea of paying an excess and claiming on insurance, I have investigated this possibility - and the kicker is that my insurance company say that because the phone was not received by me, it was not my property and therefore I am not insured for it.
I'm sorry that you have too had problems with this company - there do seem to be a lot of people experiencing the same thing, which is frustrating that in this day and age, nothing seems to have been done to reign them in.
What can I do? Any advice would be greatly received as to how I can fight this totally unfair treatment.

Bnorth, thats awful, I googled them and there are so many complaints about them, at least all I paid out was £6.62 for the return of the phone
I don't care if I don't get it back. I just want to be shot of them.
I don't know if they are covered by OFCOM or something similar. But I would try something like Watch dog or Don't get done get Dom, he is brilliantThanks to all who post compsITV winners membersclub#20 -
If the courier allowed someone from outside the house to sign for it then I would say its their problem - not yours. You have not received either the phone and hence there is not upgrade in place.0

The courier is at fault. They should have asked for proof of residence or some identification, so if they have a signature that is not yours and they have admitted getting someone in the street to sign, then it has absolutely nothing to do with you.
The problem is between E2Save and the courier.
You need to advise the network, as the thief is probably running up huge bills on the sim that was included as well.
I would also inform the police and get a crime number.0 -
As its an upgrade then presumably there shouldn't be big bills as the sim card would still be in their posession, rather than with the "missing" phone.0

Just to avoid potential confusion of other readers E2Save is the Carphone Warehouse. They use a separate name from the dedicated website and staff, but they are all with the same company as it says on the website:
Explaining our group
Mobile phone airtime contracts and handsets sold with an airtime contract through our website are purchased from e2save.com, a trading division of The Carphone Warehouse Limited, registered in England under company number 2142673, 1 Portal Way, London W3 6RS, VAT number 927226520.0 -
As are Mobiles.co, Onestopphoneshop (actually now is E2Save) and The Phone Spot (also E2Save) among others (at least, there used to be others!).0
