DMP Whats Best? CCCS Or Payplan
Comments
-
You will get inundated with calls and mountains of letters but they soon stop after a couple of months or so.
If they call just say your arranging/in a DMP with CCCS/Payplan and quote your reference number and then wish them good day. it's hard a first but the Debt Collection guidelines state they have to give you a months grace if your sorting yourself out so don't take any **** from them.
It's only money remember.

I've been with CCCS for over 2 years and have only ever found them to be helpful and supportive. I did speak to Payplan too but didn't 'click' with them like I did with CCCS.
Good luck.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Hi guys
Thanks so much for all the replies...
You know all this has made a grown man want to cry I was coping and working so hard to pay my debts and planning for our child. I didnt expect this to happen...
Yep if I can get my head round that its only money and there is nothing they can do.
Although is my car and all the contents of my house safe?
I own my car and rent my house so no one can come and take my stuff??
Thanks so much everyone

My son is a postman, who works all hours, so my heart goes out to you,
We with Pay-plan, they do take the heat out of creditors, who will hassle you, just pass the letters on to pay-plan, they work out a budject for all priority bills, then each other goes down the list, what money is left over, will be issued pro-rata, and so on, they have their own website showing creditors your budget etc.. which easy to keep a track on.. There are template for all types of letters.. if you go to Pay-plan or cccs, it shows that you are dealing with your debts. Explain your worries about losing car and home, l would not worry about that, as you are tackling the debts.. Just think that it takes one step to finish a journey, Make that first step on the road of being debt free..0 -
I think whoever you pick will do a fantastic job, not least because they don't charge for a great service. We are with CCCS, I found it really easy to set up on line and they are always really good on the phone.
Good luck Marcus, wishing you the best of luck with your journey. All of the people on here are fantastic and know their stuff so make sure you ask about anything!

Hiya mate,
In the road to having baliffs at your door taking your stuff you haven't even set out on the journey, so please don't worry on that score.
Like I said, the first thing is to stabilise your situation and get your budget manageable and a repayment plan in place.
I know how your feeling, we all do, but it will get better. You know what you have to do .

Hi Marcus,
I'm at exactly the same point as you. Know I need to do something but feel sick at the thought of getting letters and calls. My mind is full of what ifs. I hate not knowing what's going to happen and that there's no guarantees of how the creditors will react. Mostly though I feel like a total idiot for getting myself into this position but I know that if I carry on just paying minimum payments It will be about another 60 years before everything is paid off. I reckon we're doing the right thing by taking responsibility no matter how scary it is.LBM:27/07/12

Hi
Wow you are pretty much in the same debt as me,
I would love to stay in touch and follow our DMP together
Not got as far as contacting cccs yet....
Did you find it ok talking to cccs?
Have you got children?
I am worried I wont have much left over to pay my creditors im only a postie so my wages are not massive.

We should definitely stay in touch - I'm sure there will be so many bumps along the way so it will be great to share moans and tips!
No children and unlikely to have any at this rate sadly... You must be so stressed being a dad. I've only got myself to worry about and I'm going crazy enough.
Only spoken to CCCS via the online tool but it's made me feel like I've made a positive step so it's been a good thing. I'm nowhere near committed to anything yet but it's a start!
Have to say I'm terrified as have never yet missed a payment on anything in all my life (god knows how) and the idea of getting angey letters and phone calls is horrifying. I just can't keep it up any longer though.
Have you seen the DMP thread on here? It's a really good read and made me feel a LOT better for reading it. :jLBM:27/07/12
