    Nannytone is correct.

Does your mother still have significant mobility needs? Did she check before leaving the UK that mobility could be reinstated once she returned to the UK after living abroad for a few years?

It is DLA care that has been reinstated she has never applied for AA. The DLA was awarded for LIFE which in the case of care means until you die but for mobility means until we decide.

My mother came to live we me in France following my father's death. Since we returned to the UK I have applied for Carers Allowance and it is now being paid to me.
Am I right in thinking that you provided the care for your own mother in France for free but now you get paid to do it?
